Next head coach? I doubt an SEC or BIG 10 team would take him, and he wouldn't compete against his dad in BIG 12. Maybe he'd take the Miami job. But he'd be great here. Excellent recruiter.

Hey would be a great hire. But with GOL as the AD I don't see him hiring anyone young without HC experience. Personally I think he would be a great hire.
Urban Meyer, Jimbo Fisher, what's his name at Florida now.... didn't have Florida ties. I wonder if Alabama asked if Saban had Alabama ties?
Poor analogy. You can put any good coach at those programs and they'll be able to recruit. We need somebody that can develop FL & GA ties. Doesn't have to be the head coach, but we need more coaches like Callahan and Kelly that know the area.
It's about the coaches, they build programs. Bama was trash, Saban comes and they go back to winning. Florida, trash, Meyer comes = winning. Ohio State? Same thing. You can have the richest, most dedicated alumni base, but until you get a good coach you cant build a program.
Ask Tulsa if they're happy with their new coach. Don't know him? Google it.
Or 4-0 Houston.....Briles was named the Big 12 Recruiter of the Year in both 2013 and 2014...I will take that over Florida ties any day.
The other side looks like Augusta National right about now if you ask me...
How did that 2014 season end for that 2014 Big 12 Recruiter of the Year when his team was a -17 pt favorite in the BCS Fiesta Bowl? (And yes, I still think Briles is a pretty good HC).
