Kent State - 2023 game added

2023
Home-Kent St
Away- Boise St.
Home- BYU (this becomes a conf game in 23 and will have to be replaced with a non conf one)

9 Conference games.

Mohajir may be working w/USF in getting them on the books for a while. I'm ok w/this. Althought we've passed them going to a P5 league, I'd still want to play them annually...similiar to Colorado and Colorado State. Both schools realize fans want the game and the money generated.

USF would have to drop games to make that happen. They're booked up until 2028.

USF scheduling us in future years when they have an opening would go against the narrative that their invitation to the big 12 is coming.

He said he believes in regional play, so I'm betting he's calling every Fl school. But with all the schools moving in the next few years you'd think there'd be some openings coming up.

Meh. I'm not saying we need to help usf by any means but playing a range of other Florida schools can help with recruiting. Obviously the big 4 are the priority but rotating in FAU, FIU, USF, and FAMU is good too. Should also play teams in GA, AL, and throughout the southeast.

I don’t see how playing usf helps recruiting win or lose....it only serves to help them. Agree we need to play schools from our primary recruiting area (Fl, Ga, Al).....and soon Texas. A lot of us are just ready to move on from the heifers.

Good to see we are starting to display our P5 self-worth. it's good to see we are starting to talk like a true power 5 team. Charge On

All the 2 for 1 games they booked played a part in filling their schedule. Booked with Florida, Miami, Louisville, not sure if I missed any others they were handing out 2 for 1's like candy
Oh and Alabama. It's too bad they didn't win in 2021. We would have let them keep the War on I4 trophy for their empty trophy case. Time to move on. Maybe we can do 2 for 1s in the future. I lived through the Genshafting and Jim Leavittating so I have hate in my heart and I let it out.

I would rather do a home and home with FAU. USF can go pound sand.
Mixed feelings.

The stadium in Tampa makes for a better tailgate / spectator experience and USF “should” be closer to our level so it’s made it even more enjoyable to beat them.

I am only slightly more emotionally invested in the FAU FIU games as I am our Bethune games.

I would take fiu/fau/miami. Miami is unlikely bc they scared. But anytime we can play a home and home and visit the real south florida its an opportunity to recruit

I agree with this and given our sos will increase…we may need 1-2 cupcakes on the schedule to play our backups etc

Well, trading Miami for USF would be a diff story - they’ve played us before so I wouldn’t rule them out. Ended up being decent games too

We should have beaten them both times but we had this oleary guy who would run it up the middle 60 times per game
I was sitting in the UM student section in '08. The only thing that would make me say that we should've won is that was a very weak Miami squad, all things considered. I think Travis Benjamin is probably the biggest name to come out of that team, on offense at least. UCF had more future NFL players on the field that day. But Calabrese had a 30% completion rate on 30+ attempts. They tried to throw but there was nothing doing. Was awesome to see Burnett redeem himself immediately after a muffed punt with the Kickoff return for a TD.

Huh?

In the 2008 game at Miami, UCF rushed the ball for 27 times a (Includes 5 QB scrambles on called pass plays) and threw it 37 times.

In the 2009 games vs Miami at UCF...Knights ran the ball 24 times (includes 3 QB scrambles on called pass plays) and threw it 31 times.
