........ And it goes from a one point loss to a two point victory. It's the same coaching mistake (amongst many others) that cost us a victory in Ireland last year. If the game is far from being decided, better to take the guaranteed 3 points and extend your lead rather than roll the dice and come up empty. You really only need to "go for it" on fourth down in one of two situations: NFL preseason; or when you're down by a touchdown or two in mid or late fourth quarter.

It was 1/2 a yard against FIU. If our o-line can't execute a snap and get 2 feet of push so that our 6-4 QB can hold the ball out, did we ever have a chance?

I have to agree. If you can't push FIU around when it's 4th an inches then your season is lost. We had that questions answered for us last night, unfortunately.

Yeah, I definitely agree with both of your points. FIU's D-line proved to be the real bounce house last night because every one of our running plays seemed to get bounced back for a loss in yards.

FIU had a good def front last year, and they have everyone back. We got the first down the first time, but the killed the play, FIU was ready 2nd time. That being said, you have to push em back 18 inches.

Have to take the snap first... But that would've been the "game winner" and it would've been much easier to hit than the actual "game winner"
Was mad they didn't kick it at the time, even more mad now.

Not going for it was GOL basically saying FIU was going to score 2 more times, which they didn't. Gotta trust your Defense.
