He wasn’t ready. Was my opinion before he left. Glad he got paid but may be only NBA contract he gets.
I agree he was fantastic but he needed another year or two. But when your 10 top pick you don't turn down that opportunity.
Not all rookies are needed right away. Howard and Black havent played meaningful minutes yet for the Magic. G league is great place for guys to get professional minutes.
Not all rookies end up being good. Most aren’t. Look at a draft from 10 years ago. Most guys didn’t do much.

1 and done, has been a problem many have complained about for decades. First I even heard of it, since BB is incredibly boring, was an 80's TV show about the Supreme Court where Black organizers brought a case v NBA or whoever over this, with the explanation that many minorities are fed this, do 1 year in college and fail in the NBA because they just go onto the next years draft. You can "invest heavily' in someone, and then the next year you get the chance at a better player and the old guy's been dumped-- next seen serving fries.
