KJ Jefferson to UCF

OK, so KJ has committed to UCF, and he really looks good on film, and he did some really good things for Arkansas. My question is, now that we have that special, high quality, large QB, who seems to fit Gus's Offense perfectly, what excuse will we have if we still don't win games in the XII next year? Will it be Defensive Line, Secondary, Line Backers, Special Teams, Coaches, Play Calling, Gus or some or all of the above?

Who cares? At least it shows our program is willing to spend and trying to get quality players. I think KJ coming here had a lot to do with keeping our WR’s and Harvey for next year. It could be waaaay worse. Let’s be happy we got him and hope for the best next year!!

Just saw an On3 video where they're saying Jefferson could be a day 3 draft pick and has recently been projected around there.

JK Jefferson was the No. 6 overall transfer portal QB of the year, per PFF.

(Nos. 1 and 3 committed to Oregon; No. 2 turned pro; No. 4 committed to FSU; No. 5 committed to Norte Dame).

6. QB KJ JEFFERSON, ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS (NEXT SCHOOL: UNDECIDED)

Jefferson had a somewhat down season, posting a 77.6 PFF grade that was eighth among SEC quarterbacks. In his two previous seasons as a starter, his 91.4 PFF grade was tied for ninth among all quarterbacks in the country.

Jefferson’s a hard-nosed runner, as evidenced by his 1,798 yards after contact since 2021 trail only Jayden Daniels among FBS quarterbacks.

O line and D Line are too small. Then will blame Heupel who has been gone for 3 years.

What sickios are you referring to?
🙋...I'm sure, because unfortunately I fell off the Gus Bus after 2 Navy losses, Baylor, our bowl performances, our first losing season since 2015 and setting historic records. (in a bad way) I truly hope Gus turns it around and I can get back on the bus but I just don't see it with the current play calling and player development. (or lack of development)

We should be a better team next year, that said we are still building, not built. 8-4 would be a good year. 9-3 great.

At least I don’t have to watch Plumlee hobble around anymore.

Guy hopefully will go focus on baseball finally.

Does this make 6 scholarship QBs on the 2024 roster? Something has to give.

Great news though. Looking forward to next season. Upward trajectory.

i mean, our defense was atrocious so unless KJ plans on playing both sides our biggest weakness still hasn't been addressed.

UCF could get Micheal Vick from Madden 04 and I still wouldn’t have any faith in Gus’ offense.
You kidding me? If we had him we wouldn't need to call any plays, all the offensive players would just stand around with their jaws on the ground anyways (just like what the Falcons did) and just watch Vick run around and make plays.

I’m pretty convinced there will be a bunch of you sickos calling for the backup qb and Gus to be fired if not undefeated either way.
Like when will sit the big stud QB so that the smallest guy on the team can throw the winning extra point play.

He doesn’t want to play baseball professionally.
I’m betting in a couple years, or sooner, he stops football and goes back to baseball. All the guys jump back and forth when the first plan doesn’t pan out.

Idk man, the baseball system is a lot different than football. There’s like 7 minor leagues and most these guys live off of $50k into their 30s. If you’re in the NFL, you’re making bank even at the league minimum.

If he goes for NFL and doesn’t make it, the train stops there whereas he could play minors for 10 years and never crack the MLB.

You have to be really sure of yourself to go for baseball.

Yeah, assuming he will have to start in the lower minor leagues (stats wise, he doesn’t look that great), he is already too old

Best shot is CFL IMO, those wide fields would really fit his game.

Getting this thread back on topic ...

Jefferson's Stats Show He's Exactly What's Needed to Win Big 12

Despite lack of SEC success, UCF Knights' Gus Malzahn has picked up conference killer he needs to claim league title in former Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback

"While the Razorbacks went 8-16 against SEC opponents during Jefferson's three years as an established starter, he was 4-1 against teams that either were in the Big 12 at the time or are currently in the Big 12. That lone loss was a 38-31 decision to BYU in Fayetteville this past season.

In five games, the powerful linebacker-esque quarterback put up 1,629 yards of offense and accounted for 15 touchdowns. There are no five games where a UCF quarterback averaged even close to that.

It will definitely be worth watching. If Malzahn can rebuild Jefferson's confidence, restore his speed and work around his shortcomings in reading defenses, the pair can do a lot of damage against what will be the weakest schedule he has ever faced."

Jefferson and Arkansas faced the nation's toughest schedule in 2021 and the third toughest schedule in 2022. Jefferson is battle tested for sure.

When he’s on campus and in class…then I’ll believe it. We don’t need this…
