When I first heard that before Knightro UCF used to have a dragon mascot, I thought that must have been really cool...until I saw it.

Oh. My. God.

Seriously, could there EVER have been an uglier school mascot??? I'm so sorry I ever doubted you, Knightro.

One could say Squeezer is making his comeback! He is showing up more and more. I hope Knitro doesn't get jelly and rub him out in a juicer somewhere.

We sold that dragon to UAB a few years back.

Citronaut was never an official FTU/UCF mascot — pretty sure it was never used as a athletics mascot. It was way too cartoonish and stupid looking to be seriously considered as mascot.

Sammy the Slug! Santa Cruz is a serious stoner/surfer school, and "the student's embrace of such a lowly creature was their response to the fierce athletic competition fostered by most American universities.". The "Banana Slugs" probably narrowly edged-out the " Fightin' Lebowskis. "

I was at UCF at the time, had heard it was given to UCF by Disney, a cast-off (not sure if that's a fact, also heard Burt Reynolds had given us horses, once saw him an Lonnie at a game). Knew some who were in it, IT STANK!

A well-designed dragon mascot (think GOT) could have been really cool. That Godawful thing they used looked like a cross between a bumble bee and a hobbit.
