and your point is?

Believe the previous poster is saying:

"UCF we need you in the Big 12 Conf...and that way, Kansas State won't chicken out and buy out future games at BHNS...like KSU did after they escaped in the last minute win over UCF in Manhattan, KS in the beginning of a home-home series back in 2010...and KSU soon chickened out and bought out the return game at UCF."

I think thats what he meant...(i.e. KSU will never ever play a game at BHNS unless its a conf game...a game KSU can never buy out).

I'm seeing a lot of Big12 fans already resigned to the idea that OU and Texas will leave and usher in the era of the Power 4. The Big 12, like the Big East before it, will sit on their hands and talk about "tradition" and "geography" until it is too late.

LOL. Did I miss something that the KSU poster said about KnightLight's mother?

Maybe you are one of the few that didn't know KSU chickened out and bought out the return game of a home-home after UCF practically dominated the whole game at Kansas State before KSU scored the winning TD with 24 seconds left in the game...and afterwards, KSU Coaching Staff/AD wanted no part of ever traveling to play UCF in Orlando...hence they chickened out and bought out the return game.

If UCF joined the same conf as Kansas State...KSU won't be able to chicken out and buy out any game scheduled by the conf in Orlando.

Don't tell us...tell your AD and President and have them get Kansas on board with the idea too!

Can't believe we lost that game. Ran up and down the field on them and stopped their stud RB until the very end.

Kicking game and a WR falling down did us in from what I can remember. Painful loss and it would have been a nice win for our program, however it did sort of end the would of/could have era of beeting "BCS" schools back then.

We bought out a game from WVU once. Are you going to call us chicken for doing that? I don't get the smack talk toward 12375CAT when he's been nothing but supportive of us joining the Big 12.

We bought out a game from WVU once.

That was after already playing one game at WVU in Morgantown and one game at the Citrus Bowl (2 games total).

My point was KSU chickened out on their one and only game play in Orlando...as they couldn't believe they needed a last minute win to beat UCF at home...in a game that was just the 2nd start for UCF's True Freshmen QB, Godfrey.

UCF would be my first choice Cincy for #12. Hope this happens sooner then 2017 like some predict.

Usually you give a 2 year notice and we just passed the July 1st date. I'm afraid OU/KU will be off to the Big 10 then force Texas to indy status. I'm not sure what will remain of the Big 12 at that point. You could back fill 4 AAC schools and BYU and still have an ok league, but nothing like what existed.

I see the Big 12 in 2018 looking like this...

UCF
USF
Cincy
Memphis
BYU
Iowa State
Kansas State
OSU
Baylor
Texas Tech
TCU
WVU

if you want to go to 14 then...

Uconn
USF

I think you meant Houston in the first list. I think what would happen is the ACC would take Texas. That might be enough to convince ND to become a full member contingent on the launch of an ACC network. Then you'd have the 4 major conferences with their own network, separating them by $10s of millions from the other 6.
The PAC and SEC would eventually go to 16 too, but UCF won't be tapped for either of those.

Ksu was going to a 3 game conference schedule and Ucf had the cheapest buy out. Considering we played one of your big brothers in Miami that year and won the big12 I highly doubt it was because of fear. Just saying. Scoreboard btw.

We are as popular as Miami in Florida by a recent survey. Miami is on the decline....Here is proof. Plus we beat the Big 12 champ in Baylor in 2013. I don't think KSU was scared at all, btw. UCF has been known to cancel or move around our schedule too.

This was a total douche response. Why does this matter in the scheme of things?

Baylor, TCU, WVU, etc not improving competition? TCU has a legit shot at a national title this year.
All those schools' relevance are a result of being guilty by association. Perception is reality and if you take out Texas, Oki State and OK, their schedule (Baylor, TCU, WVU, etc.) looks as impressive as ours.

This isn't a reality I like, but the 3 schools I mentioned decide the destiny of the B12. I wouldn't want UCF to be in that conference without Texas, Oki State and OK.

The current B12, minus Texas, OK, and OK State is hands down a better conference than the AAC! If those are the only three teams that leave, it would likely keep it's P5 status. The AAC lost it's status for two reasons. The BCS contract expired and college football transitioned to a new system at almost the same time the Big East imploded and the only "BCS" teams left were Cincinnati, UCONN, and USF. A B12 conference that still has WVU, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU and Iowa state will still have P5 status, just likely a smaller TV contract.

Last year in the B12, minus OK, Oki State and Texas:

Baylor: 11-2
Iowa State: 2-10
Kansas: 3-9
Kansas State: 9-4
TCU: 12-1
Texas Tech: 4-8
West Virginia: 7-6

All I see is peaks and valleys with an overall 48-40 record (66%), but I admit that it is an improvement over what our conference achieved last year (minus Cinci, Memphis and UCF, to be fair). I just don't see how that "prospective" conference remains a POWER conference. Nobody there (the remaining 7, plus us 3, plus Boise & BYU perhaps) is "sexy". Boise seems like the ugliest girl at the prom, BYU is what we thought they were, all the Texas schools have barely any pull without Texas, nobody knows where Kansas is, Iowa State is... Iowa State, Cinci is the other school in Ohio, we are still the golden knights on ESPN, Memphis is a basketball school... It'll be a very broad region of secondary market coverage.

I'm putting my optimist hat on, but it doesn't fit.

No. AAC is not better. Black cat from Matrix is dead.
Not saying it's better, it's just not different in the grand scheme of things. Just another mediocre conference waiting to die.

And that fukcing cat isn't dead according to Schrodinger, ok?
