Facebook and Twitter IMO are in for a world of hurt. The platforms have been completely highhacked by trolls and just overall fake crap everywhere. And Facebook does literally nothing to combat fake accounts created simply to troll. Add all this to the data privacy issues we see occur, I won’t be surprised if major legislation comes down on them in the next few years.

It amazes me how naive people are on the internet. I just don't get how people fall for stuff so easily and/or don't realize that when you go on the internet - your stuff is out there.

Regardless of your privacy settings - these companies know everything about you. Like I've said in previous threads, I've given into the fact that if someone wants to know about me, they'll find out.

they weren't prepared for how fast both companies grew & how foreign entities/bored trolls would exploit that. There was one big Trumpster twitter account that was called Tennessee GOP that was one of the most followed accounts and defenders of Trump during the primaries that after the election was discovered to be a Russian Bot. So they are going to both extremes to gaslight America through social media platforms. They need to be more aggressive in flagging these accounts
