Largest victory margin ever over a P5 school, right?

A shame that margin of victory isn't allowed as a factor in computer polls sanctioned by the NCAA.
UCF has always been a great road team, too.

We've always managed to let a P5 program 'come back,' so we'd either win by only 2-10 points ... or ... lose by usually under 7 (far more, by far ... far more).

NC State in 2007 and Penn State in 2013 are perfect examples of kicking butt ... then almost giving it away.

That's purely from our perspective. Most all G5 opponents don't hold onto leads! We love to blame our coaches and players. But the truth is that college powerhouses find another gear in the second half every time, and they know they can. Look at Clemson's "blowout" score this week. If you're on Clemson, it's just ho-hum, another 2nd half demolition like dozens before! They can only put 11 players on the field at a time, but their 50th best player is as good as the opponent's starters. Also, the opposing coach formulated a game strategy based on weaknesses he found; in the second half, they make the "adjustments" and it's all over.

You'd have to go back to the 2004 Utah Utes team - when they were with the Mountain West as examples of P5 teams getting embarrassed. Utah won their p5 regular season games by a total 110-43 before "upsetting" Big East Pittsburgh 35-7 which started the Mountain West versus the BCS forum wars.

That's the past. Has 0% to do with the 2017 team.

It's like the stock market. Don't invest based on past performance.

If Frost is here in the future, I expect many more embarrassing loses for P5 teams, because he's not afraid to take his foot off of the gas pedal when ahead

Right. And it's not an either-or choice. UCF did slow down in the second half, thus running only 69 plays from scrimmage (a very GOL number). And the went more to the ground game in the 2nd half, which used more clock and scored more slowly. However, they didn't get conservative in play calling either!

Actually, Kruz more than GoL.
Not really comparable because we had killer Septembers under Kruzcek: mostly away games against tough competition. Our defensive lines were much lighter, too, and less depth to survive second half collapses. GOL went after big offensive lines to wear down opponents and a ball control, run-based offense to shorten the game and keep the defense fresher.

Which is why we started pulling out Ws, while Kruz didn't other than Alabama in 2000 (one of their worst years).
