I'm amazed why we gambled with FIU the last two minutes in taking their timeouts. We had hot receivers. Our rushing attach was abysmal, so why change your game strategy when the pass is working in your favor? Get our kicker to the 20 or 15 and I like our odds even with an unproven kicker.

The 3 rd down run straight into the line was ridiculous in my mind. There was 36 seconds left. What's an extra FIU timeout at that point worth? Mr Magoo isn't Peyton Manning. We should have thrown the ball and tried for the first down or at least 7 yards.

Yeah, those last three plays were atrocious.

GOL said a fg from the 25 is as automatic as an extra pt.

Guess those 23 yds are insignificant. Must have nearly identical % made.

+1 I can't believe we changed what was working. Chasing losses doesn't work in gambling nor football. If running it down the middle twice fails then it most likely won't work a third time. "They won't expect us to attempt this play a third time."

I also think it was wrong to put a kicker, who has never played in a game situation, to attempt a 47yd field goal on the last play when the longest he kicked in HS was 42yards. A Hail Mary would have had better odds. After the penalty they should have at least changed to Delahaye (19), which supposedly has a stronger leg.

It was inexcusable to purposefully put the game in the hands of an unproven kicker instead of your Junior returning starter QB. That said, it isn't unlike what we've seen before with GOL. Make the safe conservative play that has least chance of creating a turnover when you get into FG range with a chance to win the game. It would help if we had any kind of line to speak of that could create a push and not get negative yardage on consecutive running plays even when the other team knows you're going to run it (which isn't asking that much). The offensive and defensive lines were supposed to be strengths of this year's team and they clearly are the glaring weakness. Not good.

The lines suck. No way was our O-line doing anything against their front 7. Why would anyone think they would?

Defensively, Luke Adams gives us very little. We were expecting Miles Pace and Anderson. They are gone.

The linebackers are undersized and inexperienced.

The Secondary, lost Williams to a gunshot wound and now DJ Killings.

We just aren't that talented.

The only hope that we have is turning Holman into a total gunslinger and pray that we can ride Akins and Smith. After that, we really don't have any weapons to compete. Maybe Tristan Payton can develop quickly

The pass try should have come on 1st and or 2nd down. 3rd down is centering the ball.
