So.. We are first and goal with about 3:30 remaining and no timeouts. We are down by 15 points and the coaches call for 2 running plays that result in the RB tackled short of the endzone. These plays take up about 45-55 seconds off the game clock. The next 2 plays are incomplete passes. Instead of 4 chances, we have 2 AND run the clock down.

Can someone explain the reasoning for those calls? Game over right there. Total incompetence.

I was wondering the same thing. Trying to run the ball wasted a lot of precious time. Plus our offensive line doesn't block anyone. In-game coaching is an issue. It should improve though.

I'll watch the final minutes on DVR today. In my opinion, once the offense and Milton looks to be stagnate they should have put in Justin Holman. Yes, just stirring the pot. Senior QB at Senior night and Milton and the offense is just not clicking. Put in Holman. Oh well. Moments like that are lost and the coaches must watch film and learn themselves.

Why have 4 passes that go over the WR head? Why not try to get the TD instead? That's why the 2 runs. (this is just a sarcastic/bitter response, but for the most part, it's true.)

We start the game by not establishing the run and end it by running clock out. Rather odd.

Agreed. I sat in the stadium in total disbelief that we tried to run it in twice, especially since we did not run well all night, and in the last quarter, we found our receivers were creating space on almost every down.

I watched the ending on dvr yesterday. Agreed, poor play calling. Bad clock management. Had a chance to get it in the endzone, then possibly an onside kick.

Tulsa was the better team though and deserved that win. They fought hard.
