needs to step away from the keyboard, get into the weight room, and work his way into being the dominant college football player that he is capable of being. There is no future in the past, and Hunter is at UCF now.
Reviewed some of the comments from Auburn fans (primarily he's soft and doesn't put in the work) so I hope Lee has a chip on his shoulder and works hard to prove this coach, and the others who have attacked him, wrong. Lee has a platform now to show everyone how good he is. In the end, his actions will speak louder than his words...needs to step away from the keyboard, get into the weight room, and work his way into being the dominant college football player that he is capable of being. I personally do not think Lee Hunter is "soft." Nor do I think Tyrone Truesdell, who finished his career at Florida this year, was "soft" for asking the Auburn coaching staff for time off before the 2021 season (only to be denied and removed from the roster) to take care of his family. Truesdell, like Hunter, has a young daughter.Reviewed some of the comments from Auburn fans (primarily he's soft and doesn't put in the work) so I hope Lee has a chip on his shoulder and works hard to prove this coach, and the others who have attacked him, wrong. Rhetorical question right? And it's now obvious that the change from Gus' approach to Harsin is significant. I expect he won't have a good team until he can bring in his type of players. The transition should be easier for Gus (although Gabriel's injury and then his transfer created an immediate challenge).I personally do not think Lee Hunter is "soft." I have a difference in philosophy to Coach Harsin's priorities with regard to how he runs his program. Harsin puts football first. It shows in how he is inconsiderate of his players' needs. By contrast, Coach Malzahn's priorities are faith, family, and football in that order. When Kristi Malzahn was hospitalized, Gus was by her side. Football was tertiary, even though UCF had a major recruiting events lined up. Likewise, if a player came to Gus and made the same request as Tuesdell, I think Gus would make concessions for the player.
Coach Harsin wants every player to be 100% on board and ready to go to war 100% of the time without any outside influence. That's just not realistic. Hunter, along with many other defensive linemen in the program, were either not board or not ready. Some were developmental players; others had family obligations.
Having a difference in philosophy doesn't mean either coach is wrong or right. But I will leave you with this telling fact.....
Within a calendar year, SEVEN former Auburn players (Barrett, Bryant, Domio, Gatewood, Hudson, Hunter, and Richards) followed Gus to UCF. How many Boise State players do you think followed Harsin to Auburn?

Your entitled to your option, but there were multiple reports about his discipline issues (kicking players, etc.) in the weeks prior to him being fired. Your probably right that if he just won enough it would be ignored, but I don’t think Auburn fans think he did that in his first year just like Meyer (subject of post)Urban Meyer wasn’t fired for his college discipline. He was fired for hiring a strength coach with a checkered past, bringing Tebow in as a TE and not having a legit TE take his spot, sticking his fingers in crazy places at a bar and degrading people. All that being said, if they were 12-4 and made AFC Championship Game he’d still be there.
I don’t think kicking players is acceptable in any level of sports. That’s a character flaw. Not a college mentality.Your entitled to your option, but there were multiple reports about his discipline issues (kicking players, etc.) in the weeks prior to him being fired.
