No way they go after Heupel just because he's their golden boy. That would be a golden ticket up the football ladder, before proving himself. That would be a Willy Taggert move for the money.
They were already burnned by Heupl before. I can't imagine they do it again. No way they go after Heupel just because he's their golden boy. That would be a golden ticket up the football ladder, before proving himself. That would be a Willy Taggert move for the money.
Thought it was confirmed he would be back with Cincy next season? It's hard not to think that Fickell will end up with one of these jobs. The pool isn't all that deep this year and he's the big catch of 2021.
When did he burn them? Was he offered job after stoops? They were already burnned by Heupl before. I can't imagine they do it again.
He would be a fool not to. That is a great job, with one of the best athletic directors in the country.Would Fickell take the OU job for a promotion while staying in/near the midwest?
I agree. Though it seems the consensus is he is staying. He would be a fool not to. That is a great job, with one of the best athletic directors in the country.
Riley is from Lubbock TX so I'm thinking it has little to do with the location. My family and friends here in OK are all from out of state but love it. And I've heard multiple interviewees say they want to move back to the midwest after taking jobs in other regions. Plus OKC (indistinguishable from Norman) is a good sized, clean city with some excellent bars and restaurants.Road to championship is easier in pac 12 vs sec. Money is probs a lot better too.
And Oklahoma is a shitty place to live to boot.
Fickell is not staying. He is handling his current job the right way by staying loyal to his players and team. He will take another job come January.I agree. Though it seems the consensus is he is staying.
I hope so hahaFickell is not staying. He is handling his current job the right way by staying loyal to his players and team. He will take another job come January.
He was fired as OC.When did he burn them? Was he offered job after stoops?
Riley didn't lie, he said he wasn't going to LSUAll coaches lie and say they aren’t leaving. Riley did yesterday. Oklahoma and Ohio are not close or similar but money talks. Fickell would take LSU first though.
This is a typical Mike Bianchi Tweet. He's always trying to stir the pot. Nothing wrong with that I know he follows this board. I just don't see it happening, but if it does the Tennessee fans will be angry. They are still not over Kiffin running out on them. Now that is a spin for a story Mike.
Oklahoma fired Heupel as Offensive Coordinator in 2015.When did he burn them? Was he offered job after stoops?
Maybe this is why Huepel didn't recruit Florida 🤔It's crazy that Oklahoma's 2nd highest rated recruit this year is from Cali and 3 of the top 4 in 2023. I wonder if they will follow Lincoln, have to assume so
got his payday while he looked good as well. smart smart manOklahoma will be a below average team in the SEC.
He left on top and while he had leverage.
When they join the SEC and go 5-7 for a few years he would lose all his leverage. He had no choice.
or he just rather live in Manhattan Beach while coaching College Football. He did what I thought Frost should have done if he stayed 1 more year and what was the ‘It’ young coach at the timeOklahoma will be a below average team in the SEC.

Yup, the expectations for a coach in the SEC is so high can you blame him for bailing out. Smart move.Oklahoma will be a below average team in the SEC.

Texas A&M has been better in the SEC than they ever were in the Big 12.Oklahoma will be a below average team in the SEC.

No divisions once they joinI would think they would have to realign the SEC divisions once the 2 added teams out West join. They would have to be in the West division I would think. Probably take Auburn and Alabama and place them in the East and stick Missouri out West also? I’d have to look at a map, it may make sense to even out the divisions and not have such a West heavy conference, ending the cupcake East.
Is that confirmed or what you think/want to happen? No divisions once they join
My thought. The East was already significantly weaker and UF has been complaining about LSU as their annual rival. They might have to wait for Clemson and UNC to go to four 4 team podsIs that confirmed or what you think/want to happen?
Until ESPN decides to go a Power 1 with four divisions: East, South, Pacific, & NorthThis is too good to be true. Texas and Oklahoma get super greedy and chase the money to the SEC, which opens up the door for UCF to get into the P5. Texas is down and the road to glory just got a lot harder. Oklahoma’s coach says peace out and now they are in a bit of a mess with players bailing. Both programs had it made in the Big 12, now it’s gonna be a STRUGGLE to get into the playoffs for them. All the while, UCF and the rest of the Big 12s paths all got easier. Wow.
