Look at this guy!

UCF is so embarrassed that it’s wearing light blue and calling itself “Citronauts”…lmao

Better than looking confused and lost

You only need to be close to 100% in horseshoes and nuclear war. It ain't happening for the Knights.

Curious Lobocane ,
Why are you here? I mean it's just odd. We all get it , you like trolling us but it's not even fun. I give Gus a season or two then he is gone. Did you even graduate from Duh U? You can rip on Gus all you want but don't mess with the Citronaut. Lol

... you call pillory Gus all you want ... don't f--k with the Citronaut ... you want to laugh your ass off, just take a look at that scrawny pelican, Ibis ...

AUBURN LEGACY 1: your idol has one win and five losses the last two years against P5 teams. The mismanagement of the roster by Malhazan and his minions is worse than what you know. BUT you said that UCF’s floor this year was 7 wins. Welp.

A true freshman DT, that has done nothing, making more money that anyone else on that DL…more money than guys that have started for years. Same with Kight…dude is one of the highest paid players on the UCF roster while many guys that have been on the program for years are getting nothing. UCF players publicly complaining about that archaic Malzahn offense (Amari Johnson).

Now here comes Lil General Plumlee with his 3 passing TDs and 4 INTs. He’ll run head first into a defender and fumble again or worse. Tell me again how Malhazan is developing QBs at UCF? I’ll wait!

I am a fan of a football program and not of some old head washed up coach. Lol.
Well if your coach was a once-upon-a-lifetime offensive genius, who revolutionized the game of football and produced two of the most iconic plays on college football history, you might change your mind.

And still Miami is disappointing once again

One of the greatest trick plays of Malzahn's career: Faking a punt fake to force uat into an illegal substitution violation to end the game.
The three plays linked are:
1. Return of a no-good long field goal attempt for TD,
2. Catch that bounces off a defender,
3. Successfully drew a foul faking going for it on 4th and 4.

While those might be memorable moments in a team's history, none of them are attributable to coaching genius.

1. You always put a return man deep on a long field goal attempt, and you always return it if you can. The personnel on the field in that situation for the kicking team is so outmatched to defend against a return that you have basically nothing to lose.

2. A lucky play. Memorable for sure, but obviously not the way it was drawn up. Should've been a pick.

3. The best case result after trying to draw them offsides for sure, but ultimately no different than a lineman jumping.

None of those plays is attributable to coaching genius. 1 and 3 are standard decisions that just about every coach makes, and number 2 was about the luckiest break you can catch in football.

Incidentally, #2 happened on the same afternoon as "The Catch."

I'm still irritated that the should've-been-a-pick at Auburn overshadowed JJ's amazing athletic play.

Regarding Oklahoma State, I like what Gundy has done holding that team together. After a bad loss at home to South Alabama, and a conf road loss to ISU he's had two quality conference wins, one over a ranked KU team.

Someone may call that "trash" on twitter, but I call that genius coaching, keeping your team from quitting on you in the face of adversity.

Between the rivalry of Auburn and Alabama, you have one school that has a couple crazy endings or fluke situations that define their success. The other just has a bunch of championships and no one ever points to any crazy play that got them the championship.

1. Every coach does it NOW. Not then. It was genius because Gus did it first and it became customary afterward.

2. It was luck. Auburn had been beaten all over the field by Georgia.

3. This play was an absolute stroke of coaching genius and one of the more underrated plays of Gus's career. Gus sent out his punting unit with Bo Nix lined up deep at punter. Then, he motioned to a standard football formation with Nix in the shotgun. uat was so confused and out of timeouts. ****The NCAA changed the college football rules after this game to not allow this play to ever happen again.****

Canes Legacy...errr...Wannabe. This fool has never stepped foot on campus and he's a legacy? Probably Nelvin Shapiro getting a few mins on his cell phone. Get lost fool.

Yeah, those crazy plays kept Auburn relevant during an insane Bama run.

In what year did he do it "first?" Certainly not the one in the Iron Bowl.

YouTube is full of videos of FG returns, some from way before 2013. I remember a particularly memorable one by Devin Hester.

For #3, the video doesn't show the part you're talking about, with Bo being lined up deep in the backfield.

I'm curious now, what specifically changed in the rules to disallow this?

Similar, I remember playing a team years ago where qb1 and the punter wore the same number. I found that to be an interesting use of the number reuse if you ever wanted to fake punt. They didn't fake punt in our game.

I don't argue that, but EVERY coach employs the practice now because of one iconic play.

You really cannot see it on that clip or the full game film. I checked. Bo would line up for quick kicks. He excelled at coffin corner kicks. He punted three times in 2019.

Auburn won the game by a 3-point margin because of a field goal before halftime that "wasn't supposed to happen." The NCAA changed the rules after the game.

That is interesting.

Gus can be UCFs future when he truly gives up play calling and hires solid coordinators and trusts them. These gimmick plays suck. They are very high risk high reward but come with low success rate . I am more or less done with them. Besides we have two more wins if we have solid line backer play. Our record is one of poor defense not offense.

Malzahn has constructed a trash roster my man. UCF (AGAIN) not projecting to have any players drafted in the 2024 draft. Malzahn is a terrible evaluator of talent.

You know there is a point where IDGAF about this topic. I don't love the guy nor do I hate him. I don't think he is a good long term fit.

More importantly I really HATE the Miami Hurricanes and all that the program is. I was born and raised in Florida. I don't care who you hire, who you pay nil, who your recruiting class is, where it ranks and all that. I will never post on a Canes forum. Its a thug program that since moving to the ACC has been average to mediocre. So, really why do I care what you think about Gus, UCF or how many players UCF puts in the NFL.
I think you should called 407-823-1000 and ask for the AD and let him know you're Lobocane and give him your professional critique of UCF and Gus. I bet he would love to here from the mighty UM fan who knows it all. Be sure to pat him on the head in a condescending way only a Miami fan can do and remind he was just G5 AD while Miami has been P5 in like forever.

Lobo, you're a nice guy. I know you have it in your heart to share your P5 we are back DuH U wisdom because you want to help little ole UCF. But, I am telling you folks here just don't care. We are Knight Nation brother. This isnt a Hurricane board.
