Why would a Texas native leave Orlando and go to Massachusetts?

Gonna be lots of cold turds this fall.

I expected him to go somewhere like SMU or TCU if they were interested. my guess this isn’t an NIL move which makes it even more random

BC. 3-9 (2-6) last year. #121 offense. #68 defense. They played 2 QBs all season because nobody set themself apart. One guy is a 5th year guy who threw 11 picks against 8 INTs (technically still has another year of eligibility). The other kid will be a RS So next season. He threw for 1254 yards at 60% with 10 TDs against 6 INTs. They combined for like -70-some yards rushing.

Make it make sense?!?!?

The Top receiver at BC had 1000 yards, which is more than the top receiver at UCF (baker @750) and is graduating - Maybe okeefe thinks he can get more attention/yards there?

Hope he does well, he was great for UCF and always a good kid.

Probably got minimal or no NIL money

He’s basically following Wyatt and hopes to replicate the great season one of their WRs had. However, there passing game/QB situation is mediocre at best

Now he’s going to the ACC as a smallish receiver with drop issues.

Definitely running from the Gus/JRP offense.

Great person and was a loyal Knight for 4 years. Towards the end, something changed with him

BC is a fantastic university. It also has one of the highest tuition costs in the US. O’Keefe is lucky to be going there. Years ago, a lot of the admins in our College of Nursing were BC grads. They were great colleagues that I still maintain close contact with to this day. He’ll be missed at UCF. But he’ll have a great academic experience at BC.

BC top WR who is a 5'10" 175lbs speedster is projected to go in the 2nd round in this years draft.

Following a previous coach like many of the other players. Again a case where a player likely had a better relationship with the staff that recruited them.

Look who their WR coach is. He’s going for the degree and familiarity with the coach.
They must have tremendous rapport. Brings him to FL from TX, and now to the northeast. I respect that.

It's a great opportunity for him academically, no question. I hope he takes advantage of it.

Boston = Cold, boring. Give me beaches, theme parks, football, and sunshine.
That's subjective, I love Boston. As a near lifelong Floridian and a Disney AP, theme parks are facades for Orlando to hide behind. Who the hell comes to Orlando without the parks? Tremendous revenue and job providers yes, and they are fun for a bit, but I think rollercoasters and overpriced food festivals aren't exactly on the top of the average 18-22-year-old dudes' lists and they get stale quickly. Boston on the other hand has real seasonal weather, rich history, some of the best food in the country, and there are something like 13 colleges in the city alone. There are a TON of college-aged kids (girls) running around that town. He's from a suburb in TX that gets way colder than Orlando. Not Boston cold, but it's not like he grew up Kendall. Maybe he misses real seasons, not just summer A and summer B.

I hope he's productive and I don't hate the call like I did Flash. RoK will be a difference-maker on day one.

Subjective yes, and I get your point, but also 18-22 year old kid isn't walking the freedom trail everyday either. Now a beach party? yes. But I get the real reason and that is to get his stats up for the league

Good for Ryan O'keefe. I hope he makes it to the NFL. I'm a fan for life.

I'm also glad he didn't sit out the championship game knowing he was transferring. He did have that one key dropsie. But, whatever, we all make mistakes. Boston is a cool city. LOL at people who dissin' it. It's a major college and sport's town, unlike Orlando. He should have fun playing there.

Go ROK!

btw, the Orlando Magic are bringing a 4 game winning streak into their next game at Boston. Friday night.

yep most undergrads don’t care about a lot of that yet. You can say a lot of bad about FL but it is an excellent college state. Boston is a nice city but that weather sucks

And his coach former positions coach that recruited him out of HS, that's clearly a factor.

Boston is great for cultural learning and history. A lot of college aged kids are into that stuff. Not all of them but quite a few. You don’t base in where you want to play on that type stuff but there is still things to do indoors when its cold. I don’t personally care about beaches. I don’t like swimming in Ocean. But I wouldn’t pass on a Florida School Scholarship because I don’t care about the ocean. Same with Northern schools and what they offer.

Not sure why UCF fans lose their minds over grad transfers. Especially when they're going to some great schools. Sometimes it isn't all about money or selfish reasons. If someone gets playing time and a grad degree at BC I applaud them. Isn't Mikey rumored to be transferring there too?

Not saying it's not a good school but is BC that that good of an academic school like everyone is making it out to be? Basically UF equivalent? It's not a Rice, Ivy League, etc. And maybe it's me, I'm obviously not a huge school ranking person, but unless it's Ivy League, prestigious military academy, or something very close to those levels...meh.

First time I've heard that. Honestly there are a lot of former people floating around to connect the dots to MK. Chip seemed to really like him, UNC? Joey Halzle and Heup still together at UT. Golesh at USF. Wyatt and RoK at BC. Kinnie at Texas State even?

Maybe he wanted a degree from there? Great school and I’m glad we won’t play him

Some people seem to take it personally like an individual is telling them their school and experience is not good enough for them. Can only imagine how they take it if their own child wants to go to a different school.

Boston is likely a pretty awesome city to experience in your early 20s when you don't have to worry about rent.

Here we go...more fans complaining about their fan desires and fan preferences not being met and players being evil and "how dare they" and stuff.

These are students. STUDENTS. Like any student they can work full-time in any profession and go to school whereever they want (if accepted).

Grow up and leave them alone.
Some act like we own athletes who sign a scholarship agreement. That is not the reality of college football anymore.

I mean... with all due respect as I did undergrad at UCF, BC is a better school than UCF.

And another thing, these kids already got degrees from UCF, so more power to them if they move on for a grad transfer. I don't blame them.

Yes , no doubt .... BC is a prestigious school , along with Notre Dame Georgetown (and others) that make up the "Catholic Ivies" ....

are there others? those 3 are by far the best catholic schools. after them you're looking at holy cross, villanova, san diego, etc. not in the same bracket.
