Seriously. It's a no brainer. Daunte deserves that. I hate seeing anybody from UCF in that number. Including Storm. Even though Daunte gave his consent for Storm to wear it. Pay homage to our greatest who put us on the map!!!
I feel like there are a few numbers we should retire. KZ #10 comes to mind. Maybe Shaquem’s #18 (?) I think it was 18.Seriously. It's a no brainer. Daunte deserves that. If it wasn't for #8, those 2 might've never made it to UCF. Daunte truly put us on the map in 1997.I feel like there are a few numbers we should retire. KZ #10 comes to mind. Maybe Shaquem’s #18 (?) I think it was 18.
Ehhh, maybe but I think KZ came b/c of Frost and Shaquem cane b/c UCF offered Shaquille and him. Crazy thing is no one wanted Shaquem and O’Leary couldn’t even utilize him. Chinander did an awesome job polishing that Diamond in the ruff.If it wasn't for #8, those 2 might've never made it to UCF. Daunte truly put us on the map in 1997.
Yes he was. He was before recruiting was as popular now. You had to buy a magazine back then. Most didnt but he was a consensus 5 star at time.Would Daunte be our highest rated recruit ever? Everybody was after him and then quit on him because of his grades. But if everybody was after him, I would think he would have been pretty highly rated.
I'm not even sure we get O'Leary in 2003 if not for Daunte. Daunte coming to UCF accelerated our rise. Sports Illustrated did a special on him in 97. Our second year in D-1! Sportscenter covered us that year when we put a scare in Nebraska. That early national publicity wouldn't exist without Daunte Culpepper.Ehhh, maybe but I think KZ came b/c of Frost and Shaquem cane b/c UCF offered Shaquille and him.
