So it looks like I'll be making the trips to Stanford and USC to watch our Knights take on the Cardinals and Gamecocks, respectively. Anyone know if the Marching Knights are planning to make the trip to South Carolina? It's only about a 6-hour drive to Columbia from Orlando. Would make a huge difference to see the band there representing our boys and the University.

Go Knights! Beat the Panthers!

P5 money pays for this stuff. Have to go to games, donate if possible, and buy UCF apparel. Many do, but many don't

Can't compare the budgets of UF and FSU to UCFs. Yes., even going to South Carolina take A LOT OF MONEY.
Hotel rooms, gas, food, travel expenses, supervision, etc. Not even the same as going to USF.

When I was an MK we went to Virginia Tech, Penn State and Tulane. Basically one away game each season. Not sure what has changed. Surely we had much less $$ to work with during the Citrus Bowl days yet could still take the band.

This stuff is basically all predetermined and budgeted for. Basically, if we have the money, then the band goes. If we don't, then they stay home. It's not like this game just popped up on our schedule last minute.

Good point--The game has been planned for a while. When I was a Marching Knight, we also hit at least one away game per season. Heck--If South Carolina A&M can afford to bring their entire marching band to Orlando for the season opener, then the nation's second largest University should have the money to send their band to a later game against a major SEC opponent.
