Mario Cristobal to Miami ?

Why would you leave a great gig at Oregon. You have Nike money and all the resources necessary to be successful. At Miami you rent a stadium way, way away from campus, have a 50yd indoor facility, and little-to-no fanbase unless you are playing FSU. They must be throwing a lot of money at him.

As far as the tweet of "what Miami is doing to Diaz", well, look what he did to Temple. He took the job and then bailed on them. It's business.

Surprised, by this but apparently Miami is opening up the purse strings as well. Not sure if it works out.

For those that don't understand why Cristobal would go there, he's from Miami, played in Miami, coached in Miami.

People complain about coaches leaving programs for money, and then question why they would go to a program that obviously they have a personal attachment for.

Some point UCF is going to want that type of loyalty from a Kevin Smith or Milton, who if successful could go elsewhere for better pay (even in a B12 UCF world).

He played at Miami(OLine) and is the ‘Miami story’. What he believes Miami can be again is very different from anyone North of Palm Beach County. I hope he implodes but he is an amazing recruiter. He was my choice for UCF Coach on this board during the 2016 search

also their biggest booster who is now worth $20 billion and wants to fund an on campus stadium (or near campus if it's the coral gables high school site) is related to him through marriage.

I remember it well

I can't stand Miami for a whole lot of reasons . I think our move to the BigXII will impact them perhaps more than uf or FSU in terms of recruiting. UCF clearly has better facilities and soon a direct path to what ever playoff scheme they adopt. It will be harder to negatively recruit against us.

Since joining the ACC Miami has been a complete dud . I can only hope our jump solidifies them as an also ran private school program. We got a stadium , full size IPF, FANS and more. maybe one day we will have the cove thingy with lazy randy river.

UCF has to get the offense rolling . Cristobal
can recruit but his offenses always look un creative and bogged down. Herbert should have put up bigger numbers at Oregon under him, he now inherits another talented QB at Miami .

Texas A&M is paying Jimbo 150% more than Sumlin and his results so far aren’t even as good.

It’s an arms race to see what program goes broke first. When they fire Cristobal in 4-5 years I wonder how much they will continue to pay him.
