UCF had an interview session this afternoon and we spoke to Donnie and Matt Williams. I'll save the bulk of it for Friday as it was more of looking ahead to Miami-Ohio this Saturday, though Donnie did confirm that B.J. Taylor will NOT play this weekend as they once had hoped.
Donnie said they were having their Thanksgiving team dinner tonight.
"We've got so many kids that are local and they want to be with their families and I want them to be with their families," Jones said. "That's one of the plusses of a local kid coming here, they can still go home and have Thanksgiving dinner. We'll be with the UCF family tonight. Everybody, that includes coaches, managers, staff and wives. We'll have a chance to give gratitude tonight for how lucky we are, all of us."
Donnie joked that his wife, Michelle, gets the "blessing" of doing most of the cooking.
"She's loving that," Jones said. "The wives are bringing over one dish. She's had me working. She had me up early this morning cleaning so I'm doing my part too. Everybody is ready. The house is ready to roll."
I asked if there was a signature Jones family Thanksgiving dish.
"Sweet potato casserole," Jones said. "That's her specialty. She's already made about four or five pans of that. There's a lot of people to feed there tonight."
