The men's basketball transfer portal opens Monday, March 18 and closes Wednesday, May 1.
Due to recent legal rulings, players who previously transferred can transfer again without penalty.
Of UCF's current roster, it will be interesting to see what the turnover will look like.
Assuming status quo in the coaching situation, UCF will obviously want to keep Darius Johnson and Jaylin Sellers. I think Thierno Sylla is also in that category.
CJ Walker potentially could receive another year if granted a medical redshirt. Would he want to return to college? If so, would he return to UCF? He will have graduated. Could he pursue another opportunity elsewhere?
There are also four incoming commitments, three HS players + Mikey.
Teams are limited to 13 scholarships. UCF had 14 players that could have been on scholarship this past year. I'm not sure how it was configured (maybe Tyler Hendricks was considered a walk-on?).
It will be interesting to see how UCF manages the roster. There are 14 players listed below that have eligibility remaining (if we're including CJ). Obviously many of these names will not return (Mockus has not been seen for the past few games, that could be the first domino).
If UCF can keep DJ and Jaylin, knowing Mikey and the HS recruits are coming in, do they still have room for some of these guards?
PG Darius Johnson
G Jaylin Sellers
G DeMarr Langford Jr.
G Nils Machowski
G Tyler Hendricks
G Comeh Emuobor
F CJ Walker*
F Marchelus Avery
F Thierno Sylla
