Meat grown in labs soon to be found in stores near you!

I think it's a great idea. I don't eat meat because of the environmental impact and animal welfare, so considering this largely eliminates those problems, I might consider eating this product.

Killing plants has no impact on the environment?

Correct. Killing plants has a positive impact on the environment. If there were no plants then no pesticides or fertilizers would be required...huge drop in pollution.

How high would the carbon levels be if we got rid of all the plants?

It doesn't matter as long as we have oxygen to breathe. The oceans create most of the oxygen so the impact would be negligible.

That's actually not true. At 1% CO2 we'd start feeling drowsy. At about 5% CO2 the air would be toxic and we'd die. The other 95% could be pure O2, it wouldn't matter.

They have cut the price from 330k a pound down to 18k.
I still like the promise of this technology. The idea that I could tell my home meat factory that I'd like a medium rare filet mignon for dinner tonight. It could grow the meat, sous vide it, refrigerate it, and sear it off at dinner time. I mean that's the Jetson microwave thing we were all promised 50 years ago.

If our air was 95% O2, we'd die as well as oxygen is also toxic to the body in high concentration. It's a good thing the air is 78% nitrogen.

True, we'd probably incinerate ourselves with uncontrollable fire well before it was able to hit 95%.

I'm guessING by the title, anti-GMO?
No, its an award winning documentary about how much of our food is actually made from corn. Even the beef we eat is made from corn, because they are force fed it so much. It's changed our body chemistry. Your hair is a good example.

Premise of the film: Two guys meet in college in Boston and become best friends. Years later, they discover that their great grandfathers were friends in a really small town in Iowa. They were corn farmers. So they decide to move to that town after graduation and raise an acre of corn over one season to see what it was like for their grandfathers. Meanwhile, they document what they learn about the corn industry. I hate hippie granola crap. Its one of the best documentaries Ive ever seen and truly an achievement for student filmmakers. Its free on Netflix and Prime usually. Its 99 cents on iTunes. Its worth your time.
