185th to start year. Pretty much can only go up.http://kenpom.com/index.php
Agreed about Tulane especially how they started out last year.
AAC basketball needs to have all teams in the Top 125 and football needs to win 90 percent of their ooc games to impress the TV execs into giving them a better TV contract.
Got causation backwards. More than football, best players choose P-5 to help chances for NBA, especially "one and done" 5 stars. Good recruiting coaches dominate hoops, the top recruiters are bought away from their G-5 schools. Wasn't always thus, but now more than ever.
Checked Sagarin's (shows by conference). Even mid-major MW and MAC had only 2 and 1 member in the top 100. But C-USA was canon fodder: none of 14 teams ranked above 100. P-5 conferences had 1 or 2 below 100. AAC the only in-between conference: 7 in top 80, 4 below 180 (UCF #181).
So you are basically saying that the entire AAC should become a P-5(6?) conference. That will automatically give us ranked teams. I will wave my wand and declare it so. Right now, the AAC is defying gravity (except Memphis) by maintaining more top 100 teams than the next 5 non-P5 conferences combined! IT IS CERTAIN THAT the AAC elite must decline! Top coaches will get bid away and with them any chance of getting player quality. Within 5 years, the top 100 will most all P-5 plus the Big East, of course.Nope football is more important.
And i stick with the basketball assessment...all teams need to be at least Top 125 with some powerhouses.
Football is just the appetizer. Things get serious when the Tacko course arrives! It's still Football Season
In just 4 months we'll be going through such severe football withdrawal, we'll convince ourselves that basketball matters. It's still Football Season
