Is anyone going this year? April 10th through 12th.

I would be going but this is the last weekend before my second child is born. I will have too much stuff to do around the house. Plus my wife would be pissed if I went without her.

You should hang out just outside the official doors and people watch. Youll have a great time. There can be some really good looking ladies in bad azz costumes.

GKS are you dressing up?

I really dislike the people in charge of booking it. you have people that go and dont pay to play hero clicks and cards but they targeted the store I used to play 40k at and told them they had to pay more because the people playing were not paying to go into the show (which we werent) but neither do the kids playing magic...

anyways I havent been back since then...if i really wanted to go to a con I would go to dragoncon in atlanta...

#1- You couldn't pay me enough to fight traffic during this event

#2- can is the operative word, I bet most are pigs that think they can polish a turd by wearing a Batgirl outfit.

#1 - yea the traffic does suck getting in, no doubt.
#2 - Id say its about 50/50, and there are some really amazing ones that make up for it.

The people booking it are @$$hats...

There are games and events outside the showroom that you do not have to pay to get into...some watch anime, some play cards, some play heroclicks, and some play videogames. back about 8 years ago there were a couple of war gaming groups that would play historical wargames or fantasy/scifi games.

They told the groups that were playing war games that they were not welcome because their guests were not paying the money to go into the showroom, where they still allowed the card player and heroclicks player to continue (regardless of the fact that the kids playing cards, video games, or heroclicks) are going into the show.

Anime, heroclicks players, war gaming groups, scifi games.

If you're going to MegaCon, you should probably reevaluate your decisions and head to Jacksonville for an adult event, OneSpark, instead.

I was in Vegas this January for SHOT Show at the same time as the AVN awards. Now that's a combo.

Passing this year, and likely permanently done. I used to go in the 90's when it was at the old Expo Center; we started going again a couple years ago because my son claimed the mantle of family nerd from his father. It's clear MC has "grown too big for its britches" and the organizers have no idea what they're doing. Consider:
Traffic and parking were a complete cluster last year bc they didn't work with the Convention Center or Sherrif's office to have adequate staff to help with the crush of con goers. They didn't limit ticket sales, and pack attendees in like sardines. Last year, they had one entrance and exit, and the fire Marshall had to shut down further admittance to the floor all the while they were still selling day-of tickets.Admission is vastly overpriced for what attendees receive: the privilege to pay more money inside. Back when I used to go, admission included a signature from the guest of honor and vendors were giving out all kinds of free stuff. Now, hardly any media companies show up to hand out swag or promos, and the comic guests now charge. Few panels and events.Half the media gusts have cancelled, including a headliner guest just today. The remaining guests are over-priced (though cons have little say over how much they charge) and uninteresting (to me). They used to get a wide variety of media guests. It is not a family-friendly event, though I suppose that fact is what attracts many people. No activities for kids, artist alley is mostly soft porn and cosplay is mostly either graphic gore or borderline strip tease.Too much anime.

I have no idea what is being talked about. The only word I recognized was anime which is the weird japanese cartoons, so, no, i will not be going.
