"The Pirates were predicted to finish last in the conference this year by most experts. Based on the first 14 games of their season, they appear to be better than anticipated."

Tight game starting the second half. Can’t lose games like this. Gotta find a way to win.

Need him healthy. He’s probably the key to a good season versus a great season. You can see the difference when he is out there…fieldsmanship.
He’s a guy that gets others involved. Schedule is pretty tough the first 8 or so Conference games. Need him back fast.

Darius hurt again.
Important to win that game on the road without Darius playing in the 2nd half. Definitely need him back in the starting lineup because he brings both stability and leadership. It was good to see that Jayhlon Young played well and he's been pretty solid as our backup PG. But we need Darius back asap.

We have two really good young point guards. I don't see any real drop-off from DJ to Young and DJ has had two yrs with Dawkins vs Young’s one.
Young may not put up as many points (yet) but IMO, he seems to be better at setting up big plays for the others. Isn’t that the most important aspect of any PG?
That being said, DJ is the true leader and I hope he’s healthy and back on the court ASAP. Short turn-around with SMU up Sunday and then a really big game vs Memphis on Wed.
Let’s get a lot of butts in the damn seats. GKCO

Great job by Coach Dawkins. Taking the shot clock down on each possession after Johnson got hurt to shorten the game was big. He is doing n the whole staff is doing a phenomenal job this year

Lot's of credit go to Dawkins. Complete rebuild and truly brought in high level talent. The team is playing well together.

Right now we have the 2nd highest NET Rankings. Memphis is lower than us and they are getting biased polls votes.

DJ is better at driving thru the lane in traffic...and his is 100% better on the defensive side of the court (DJ has 24 steals to just 7 for Jahlon, even thought Jahlon has played about 40 more mins this season.

Good news is both are clearly team leaders from the FT line as both are shooting 90%...and both need to get to the line much more often.

They need DJ more than ever, with CJ out. He controls the floor and in the beginning of the year the team was getting killed by the press, which was a direct reflection of not having DJ in there

Walker hasn’t looked good at all this year. Hoping it’s injury related. He was athletic last year and this year either hurt or running up and down court without a purpose.
