What is going on at Cinci, UCONN and Memphis? They were supposed to be the top of our league. I guess not.

I'm surprised by how well Tulsa is doing more than anything else. Temple is hot and probably the best team in the conference right now next to SMU.

If SMU and Temple can keep winning...they will be in the NCAA tournament. I don't see the next two teams (Tulsa and Cincinnati with 17 wins so far) getting in.

Hope the league can really rebound next year. We need 4-6 teams each year.

Tulsa's conf schedule was back-weighted with most of their tougher games coming in the last 3-4 weeks of their schedule as Tulsa has just lost 2 games in a row (SMU, destroyed at UCONN), and their final 5 games are:

TEMPLE
TULANE
at Memphis
CINCINNATI
at SMU

Tulsa has a weak SOS compared to other top AAC teams which is why Tulsa's RPI is rather low (for being tied in 1st place), #49...so Tulsa still has a lot of work to do if they want an at-large bid.

If I was a Tulsa fan, I'd be concerned about backing into the postseason. They need to end the regular season on a strong note or they could collapse in the conference tournament.

If we can jump ECU and Tulane in standings, would make it a bit easier to win a game or 2 in AAC tourney...thats probably the most we can ask this year.

AAC Tourn on Day 1:

#7 plays #10....winner plays #2 Seed on Day 2

#8 (currently ECU) plays #9 (currently UCF)....winner plays #1 Seed on Day 2

#6 plays #11...winner plays #3 Seed on Day 2

On Day 2, #4 plays #5.

Man...I'm really not into college hoops, and was hoping to get into it by watching UCF play but it's not helping >.<
Hopefully next season this Taco kid (Tako maybe, i forgot) will get me interested in it.

UCF current Freshmen BJ Taylor and Adonys Henriquez (both from Orlando), will certainly be worth following in the coming years, let alone new players next year like AJ Davis (transfer from Tenn, who might be the best UCF player in school now), Tacko Fall, a 6' 4" pt guard Chance McSpadden, high scoring JUCO F Tanksley Efianayi, and F Chad Brown.

Those that rip AAC Football for lack of quality, the opposite is true of AAC Hoops...as teams like Temple, SMU, Memphis, UCONN, Tulsa, hopefully an improving UCF, etc...its a solid hoop conf.

Add to the UCF Arena is a great place to watch a game...college hoop games last just 2 hours and is relatively cheap (seaosn tix start at less than $6 per game), its fun entertainment over the winter months...even if one is not necessarily a college hoop fan.

UCF Fans have great access to players/coaches, (much easier than football), so next year might be a fun year to give it a try (save over 50% with season tix purchase).
