Miami men’s baseball made the Final 4…the Lady Canes made the Elite 8 and the baseball team is ranked top 25. What a great start to 2023!!!

Boys chirping but about to be swept by USF in baseball too. Sad time’s since Beta Mohajir took over.

No idea who this guy is but he’s been crapping on Miami and Nebraska a lot lately while talking UCF up…he ain’t wrong

The funny thing is he talked about Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Boise State way more than he talked about Miami. It was as if he wasn't even surprised about Miami's program falling apart.

Did they? The penalty for a modified bat is the batter is out. But they have to challenge it in a game. I don’t recall that ever happening.
Probably the same type thing when we said a GA got mad and gave the playbook to a different team. No proof. Just allegations. It’s real easy to do with social media now.

Malhazan has a bunch of dead arms in the QB room. Zero guys with arm strength and accuracy. He’ll start Lil General JRP and keep calling the quick passes to the LOS. Make it easy on the guy…so he doesn’t have to think much. Everyone knows what Malhazan will call and everyone will easily stop it.

Lil General can’t read a defense to save his life. His arm is weak and inaccurate. When facing third and long all he can do is look confused…zero ability to go through his progressions. Run around in circles and turn over the ball via fumbles or interceptions.

Yeah…boys in Central are going to “throw deep”. Every single pass in under thrown…at best incomplete, most likely intercepted. But wait, this Auburn Legacy character will tell you how great they all are and how they’ll pass for 10k yards. Goofy.

You actually are spot on here about what happened last year when Gus faced run defenses ranked in the Top 50. Only teams that could stop the rush were able to slow the Knights. No one in the Big 12 was capable of stopping the run last year, though.

I cannot disagree with the assessments of JRP and Tommy Castellanos because they are MY ASSESSMENTS. JRP is a side show Wildcat quarterback at best, and Castellanos is a future running back.

Gus, however, still has time to realize/admit this and pluck a real quarterback out of the portal in May. He said upon hiring Darin Hinshaw that he would reevaluate the QB room in the spring to determine whether another quarterback was needed.

Even if Gus does not get a "real" quarterback out of the portal, I still think the starting UCF quarterback will throw for 3,000 yards given the nature of defense played in the Big 12 and the offense UCF will have play to keep pace in an explosive league. Please don't confuse me saying that throwing for 3,000 yards means JRP is a 'good quarterback'. Nearly 40 FBS quarterbacks threw for 3,000 yards or more last season, and I assure that only a handful would be classified as "good" by anyone.

I know what you’re trying to say, but what are you talking about? JRP is the guy and what Hinshaw said is there has been improvement, working on feet, protecting the QB, not running first opportunity. I’m long on TC, he’s going to be a superstar but he’s not ready. I expect him to see a lot more end of game action this year for experience.

I’m actually expecting big things from JRP and Hinshaw this year. I was critical of the Hinshaw hire at first but I’m on board for now, he’s winning me over so far and always loved his dedication to UCF. Let’s see how the season goes though, can’t be a worse offense than Gus’ last couple years. I’m thinking lots of you negative Nancy’s will have to find other things to complain about this season.

Hinshaw basically shut the door on any possiblity of pulling a ringer out of the portal at the 11th hour. The keys were officially handed over to JRP in that interview. The ball is in his court. JRP doesn't have to worry about competing for the position. He doesn't have to look over his shoulder. It's his.

Regarding the coach speak on footwork, playing from the pocket, the entire UCF staff "has said" all the right things this fall camp (i.e , teaching the receivers to play without the ball, etc.) What is "said" in the offseason and what is done when the bullets are flying on Saturdays are often two different things.

I would have preferred to hear Hinshaw say "The situation is fluid. We're still evaluating the quarterbacks. We've seen a lot of good things from three guys in the QB room, but nothing will be set in stone until fall camp." Instead Hinshaw essentially announced JRP is the starter.

Lastly, it is Gus's offense. Gus is the offensive coordinator. Regardless of anything you hear contrary, Gus has total control of the offense. Herb Hand said Gus is one of the greatest offensive minds ever in football Rest assured he is pulling the strings .He may not be calling the plays, but he will design the call sheet that says what to run on every down and distance.

One last word about JRP...

UCF is moving into the most parity-stricken P5 conference in college football.

And yet UCF's quarterback has never produced a game-winning fourth-quarter drive in 2.5 years of playing quarterback collegiately.

🤔

well then he has something on Gus barring a huge fall camp leap bc heard some things ….

He’s a 50 year old guy that has never called plays, has never been an OC at a P5 program, was a UCF analyst two years ago. Yes, a cheap hire…another Malhazan Yes Man.
Rather be cheap than throwing a record 8 million for 5-7, a loss to MTSU and getting curbstomped by my rival.
