One of my coworkers sons is playing football at a MS in Tampa area (I don’t know which one). She was saying that they had to buy their own helmets and uniforms. Is this normal?
Also she is very confused about football and school sports in general since she is from India and did not grow up with any sort of organized sports in school. She is very concerned about the amount of time he is spending in football vs school work. I told her that most good coaches will make sure that the kids are doing what they are supposed to be doing both on and off the field. And that she should make an appointment to talk to the coach if she still had concerns. I tried to tell her that sports will help instill discipline and that it’s probably better than just spending additional hours playing video games.
On a side note the kid lives in the Tampa St Pete area but loves UCF!
