During his weekly press conference, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was asked about the Big 12's expansion moves of adding UCF, BYU, Cincinnati and Houston.

Gundy was first asked how the new Big 12 additions could impact Oklahoma State recruiting. He says they haven't really thought about that yet. Then he talks about the additions, saying how they're in big populated areas and those being areas OSU has never been in.

"We hit a home run with this league, no doubt about it."

Then rambles more about recruiting in those areas, but says they still will focus at players in a four-hour radius.

Gundy was then asked about other schools negatively recruiting against the Big 12. And the media guy then says the four additions have won some big games.

"When I said we hit a home run, we hit a home run in a lot of areas."

Gundy didn't think they'd have expansion settled until next year. He then says OSU will land somewhere and be just fine. He then says realignment could fire up again by 2025.

He says they're in a solid budget situations for years to come. Then adds again OSU will be just fine in 2025. He says they need to be in a Power Five, which they are.

Then starts talking about UCF.

"Central Florida, being in our conference, it's only going to get better for them. They're located in a huge population. They've got great people in that part of the country. They already have 70,000 students.

"BYU is in my opinion looked at as a Power Five school, their logo, for a long time. They have a huge following from coast to coast.

"You have Cincinnati that's played well for a number of years. They have a huge populated area and a great big television market there. Hww is that going to improve their logo? Their marketing people I'm guessing are fired up at Cincinnati.

"Then Houston has been wanting in our league for a number of years. Supposedly. They're sitting right in Big 12 country. They've got tons of population and tons of high school football to recruit from. And a lot of viewers down there. They battle the Astros and the Texans and the Rockets, but for the most part it couldn't have happened any better for Oklahoma State and the remaining eight schools in my opinion. I know for Oklahoma State, the future is a home run."

How much does the Power Five label matter to recruits? Gundy says recruits care.

He was asked how important it is for "middle America" to have a conference. He then name drops several Big 12 cities. "This is a big get for Stillwater." Then rambled on a bit. Man, Gundy loves his podum time.
