He just posted this to social media:
Since 2004 I can honestly say that I have given my heart, soul, and some of my cartilage to the University of Central Florida. It has been an incredible journey. I feel beyond blessed and humbled to have been a part of UCF as a student-athlete, graduate assistant, coach, administrator, and fundraiser. There was never I moment that made me question why I love UCF so much. It is and will always be a part of me.
It comes with great excitement and some true sadness to tell you that I will be leaving UCF as an employee. I have the opportunity to purse a passion project that will require my full time commitment. Luckily, this passion project will allow Annie and I to stay in Orlando. Which makes the decision much easier and us very happy! I will be the president of Biz Life. A Social Purpose Corporation focused on a new educational model for start-ups, veterans, and impoverished individuals who want to start, grow, or evolve their business/idea. I have also hired an agent to push further ahead in my broadcasting career. College basketball broadcasting is something I have always loved and I am ready to take that to the next level.
Now, let me explain a few things. My decision to leave UCF was very calculated and made with quite a bit of prayer. My heart is pulling me into this new venture and I must follow. To say that I am not nervous would be a lie. I am nervous. But that’s ok. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith, the trust part comes later. Without a doubt, I am so thankful that I got to play basketball for the best fans in the country. I don’t care what anyone will tell you… I loved to play for the UCF crowd, and our team fed off your passion. My heart would pound out of my chest on game days. Playing hard is easy. Playing with purposeful passion is what I strived to achieve. My heart ached for it, because there is no question that when we took the floor, every game, we played for YOU… the UCF faithful! It was an honor to wear the #4 in the black and gold. Charge on! Forever. @ucf.knights @ucf.mbb
