It seems that 95% of the time he is giving it to the running back regardless of what the defensive end/linebacker do! The one time he pulled it this weekend and kept it himself he ran for a 62+ yard touchdown.

Is he being told to hand it off or is he making the wrong read? I thought he ran this offense in high school and had more experience/understanding it??

While he was coming off an injury...on the long 63 yd TD run...he seemed to slow up in his last 2 strides which helped a Temple player be able to dive and grab his foot/ankle...and he never seemed the same after that.

Of course later in that same 2nd Q...he was in the middle of a vicious sack sandwhich where he needed assitance to limp off the field...and that seemed to end an chance of him running any plays in the 2nd half...and Temple seem to know it too (i.e. all of their focus was on the RB...as UCF had 14 carries for just 14 yds in the 2nd half (including 8 carries for ZERO yds in 4th Q).

Hopefully Milton will get a chance to heal this week...as UCONN will be no slouch.

I imagine our true freshman QB who weighs all of 170 pounds does not want to get pounded unless he sees a nice hole. And our O-line is not necessarily matched up to run the schemes.
might be some hesistation by Frost to cut him loose running too much bc of the current depth chart at QB

You have to remember that while he might be playing in the same system, he's making a jump from Hawaiian HS game speed to FBS game speed. It's going to take time to adjust.

I understand it's a process but while watching the Temple game, the DE's were breaking inside because they knew we were running up the middle. It would have been a different second half if he would have pulled some out of the running back and ran around the end
