More to the story of the anti-O'Leary banner? Listen Now!!

We aren't getting better next year. Recruits aren't walking in the door.

One comment that Kyle made during his interview was about making the assumption that the players already knew the basics. I found that interesting because back in the day, when I used to go to every practice I could make, I was impressed with GOL for stopping a practice and correcting the team because they broke the defensive huddle incorrectly. I had never seen an attention to detail like that on the field. He felt that everyone had to do everything exactly the way it was supposed to be done, and if he saw anything done incorrectly, he wouldn't go on until it was corrected. Anything!
I am no longer close to the program, but I have to say that I'm seeing mistakes that I didn't ever believe I would see on an O'Leary team. I find myself wondering out loud if the job of AD is taking time away from his number one job, and he doesn't have the time for that attention to detail any longer. I know that he's a good enough coach to correct these mistakes. I don't know if he's going to do it, or if there are enough hours in a day to do everything he needs to do.

I see Israel is blaming Holman. Hey Israel your boy O'Leary rushed him back. But that would require you to think with nuance. Also Israel you say that UCF doesn't have the talent of teams in their own conference, guess who se fault that is? Oh right that would mean you actually blamed George. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY BLAMING THE KIDS FOR INJURIES? Goddamn Israel you might be the biggest puppet.

I don't think he cares about the details anymore personally...

You couldn't be more wrong.

Even the players comment on how well they are trained in practice/film room...but the youngsters under the lights are making too many mistakes in their first year of action by most (i.e. drop balls, missed assignments, etc..).

Welcome back Bobby Dee!

GOL is still at every practice...attends most of the unit meetings, just like before...but most of the mistakes are being made by the 14 walk-ons/former walk-ons and the 30 first time starters and 12 of the 17 Freshmen signed in Feb, mostly because of lack of depth.

Good news is most players improve over time with game playing experience and obviously a lot of these youngsters have seen way more PT than most probably expected, let alone getting guys back next year that have been knocked out with season ending injuries...UCF will improve in 2016, regardless who is on the coaching staff.

@Knight_Light , why is it so excruciatingly hard for you to admit that it is unacceptable to have 0 wins (or anything less than 6 wins when you have FIU, Furman, UCONN, Tulane, SMU, and Tulsa on your schedule) for a 12 year head coach?

I get that you are trying to find excuses, but holy cow man. I think at this point GOL could bring an AK to practice and just start blowing away players and you'd say something like "well actually, if it wasn't for injuries, the players would have been able to dodge the spray of bullets."

Israel said exactly that. I have no idea what you're talking about. He said the hand look awkward all game and that it looked like he couldn't move his finger.

That's putting "blame" on a player? Or is it Kyle doing his job and analyzing the way he plays?

ummm... no. that's putting blame on the coaching staff. Makes me wonder about the medical staff that cleared him a week ago. He's not a place kicker or linebacker he plays the position were finger dexterity is the most important.

I appreciate what you guys do but you gotta have people on there that are not afraid to criticize O'leary and not guys that are kissing ass hoping for a future spot on his coaching staff if he still has a job next year

No. When he says that their training program is to blame for their injuries. But that's ok I understand if you couldn't hear it given your avclub esque levels of production and constant spamming of your shitty podcast

Wasnt Key supposed to be that guy who GOL said "paid attention to detail"? If thats the case then Key has failed miserably at picking up the slack where GOL was lacking for whatever reason. Some have mentioned that instead of being moved to the OC spot, that Key shouldve kept his title as Associate Head Coach. I would add that his role should be like an executive coordinator, one has "final" say over both offense and defense coordinators unless GOL steps in and overrides him.
Maybe taking over OC reigns didnt allow him to do what GOL liked about him in the first place.

Actually, I personally cant wait toll GOL is gone...never have liked him. on the other hand he has done a lot for UCF.....But ill be happy when he is gone. AP

Our 2-star (I don't usually go by astrometrics, just kind of have to now as it is starting to show a bit) grade-C level talent is starting to de-commit. That's fantastic.
So we've lost two recruits in 2 weeks? At this rate we'll have no one left by the seasons end

Ah...that's why some of us have laughed at you...as you were never objective.

Screw objectivity.

Yay reality.

Knight_light would point at a single, lonely fan in the stands and say "Look at that devotion! He is an awesome fan."

Others would point at a single, lonely fan in the stands and say "Look at that poor guy. Does he not have any friends?"

There is really no point for me to be totally objective.... I call it like I see it. If I was the listener that would be what I would like to hear.
