Why the Past 10 Years of American Life Have Been Uniquely Stupid​

The most reliable cure for confirmation bias is interaction with people who don’t share your beliefs. They confront you with counterevidence and counterargument. John Stuart Mill said, “He who knows only his own side of the case, knows little of that,” and he urged us to seek out conflicting views “from persons who actually believe them.” People who think differently and are willing to speak up if they disagree with you make you smarter, almost as if they are extensions of your own brain. People who try to silence or intimidate their critics make themselves stupider, almost as if they are shooting darts into their own brain. 🙄😂

This country has gone crazy and I 100% blame social media. I was hoping this was a phase that we would get over, but I think it is only getting worse. I think we are all going to be in for a rude awakening if we dont stop with a lot of this BS, and it comes from both sides or sure.

And it comes from all angles. I see sheep on both sides of the covid argument. Covidians believe the vaccines are like something straight from the sacred chalice. The anti-vaxxers I associate with on social media 95% say publicly masks are worthless for respiratory virus, which I don't agree with, but it's not the point. The point is how uniform BOTH sides of this covid mess are in their beliefs. Disagreement is not allowed.

The truly independent thinkers are a rare breed. Since covid, I've learned much more about psyOps, nudge teams, disinformation and so on. Now that I've taken a step back, I can see it all unfolding real time. It's why my record on covid has been succinct. It took me a while to get there. Everyone will eventually.

Social media is a cesspool especially twitter. One thing that might help is no more anonymous users.

Possibly, but I dont think that would help that much. I think most anonymous accts on twitter are just trolls who arent taken that seriously, but plenty of people using their real names are causing a lot of this.

On Easter Sunday, a Republican legislator in Michigan sent out a fund-raising letter identifying one of her Democrat colleagues as a "sexual groomer" and Marjorie Taylor Green called the three Republicans Senators who voted in favor of Jackson for the Supreme Courts were "pro-pedophilia." This kind of nonsense has to stop.

Yep. The extremist have basically taken control of the party. There are extremists on the left too for sure, but the difference, is they have little to no power, where as in the GOP politicians are playing to them.
