Dear Mr. Stansbury:
Greetings and salutations, my name is Chad H, UCF class of 2000. I and others have grave concerns about the current direction of several of our sports, namely, men's basketball and baseball. Many fans are disillusioned and disenchanted about the under performance of our student athletes on the field of play. As you know, poor performance leads to low morale, fan apathy, low attendance, etc.
For too many years, many of the fans feel tricked into false hope and unfulfilled promises by several coaches who paint us false dreams. The feeling is akin to Charlie Brown who's routinely tricked into attempting to kick the football by his nemesis Lucy, only to land on his head. Or when Charlie Brown naively believes the Great Pumpkin will appear, only to leave in a state of despair when it doesn't.
While I don't personally hold the student athletes accountable, we all demand accountability by the coaching staffs and administration who are being paid fair market wages to perform. Far too often, a group think mentality of accepting the status quo of mediocrity plagues corporations and I fret this appears to be the current case with UCFAA. As such, I'd like to know the blue print for fixing the current woes here and what changes may be on the horizon. If you could call me at *** *** **** at your earliest convenience I'd appreciate it. Thank you, good sir, we all want what's best.
Respectfully,
Chad H, aka SadUCFKnight.
