Tiny track. But with declining fans they are trying to get urban fans. Stopped race for Icecube concert. Winner gets 2 million and they stop it for a concert.
I was wondering if they let sororities in for free or what. A lot of college age girls there.it actually looks cool and made it a watchable tv event
and the camera shots of USC coeds beats the beasts that drive from Lakeland to Daytona
They cut 20 cars as it was. Usually 40+ cars per race. I don’t like short track racing typically. I like the Super Speedways.I know it's, probably, not feasible but it would have been, IMO, a more interesting race if the number of cars had been cut in half. Way too many vehicles for such a tight place.

It was much more entertaining than figure skating that was on channel 2. I wasn't in until the Ice Cube concert than i watched the rest.Tiny track. But with declining fans they are trying to get urban fans. Stopped race for Icecube concert. Winner gets 2 million and they stop it for a concert.
They mentioned PitBull. He must have been prerace. I didn’t see him.It was much more entertaining than figure skating that was on channel 2. I wasn't in until the Ice Cube concert than i watched the rest.
The oval hasn't raced for a while. Car counts and attendance was always a challenge for that track. Too bad, I liked it.Anyone kno if they actually still have regular racing out at Orlando Speed World or is it just drift car racing? Watched my dad run a few times there and New Smyrna Speedway late 80s early 90s. But just see drift racing on the website.
I believe NASCAR hit bottom a bit before Covid. With some management change and better decisions new sponsors and fans are coming to the sport. Don't think you will ever see it as popular as it was about 20 years ago.Tiny track. But with declining fans they are trying to get urban fans. Stopped race for Icecube concert. 20+ years ago you can get a free carton of smokes from a vendor in Daytona during race week. They knew how to cater to their fans.I believe NASCAR hit bottom a bit before Covid. NASCAR and MLB has been in a steady decline for some time. It will be hard to get back but 35 Years ago NFL was trying to figure out how to get fans. It can be done.I believe NASCAR hit bottom a bit before Covid. With some management change and better decisions new sponsors and fans are coming to the sport. I would agree MLB is on the decline, but NASCAR's decline and MLB's decline are not comparable. NASCAR has fallen off a cliff.NASCAR and MLB has been in a steady decline for some time. It will be hard to get back but 35 Years ago NFL was trying to figure out how to get fans. It can be done.
Wow. That actually is a pretty good idea. Would for sure increase competition for the lower tiered teams but don't know if sponsors would be completely happy with this set up. Would be a definite win for fans, though.it did seem a bit tight.
Maybe they could have dropped the back of the pack out every so many laps. Would have made the race for the back of the group as interesting as the front.
The field was already cut in half. 20+ cars didn’t qualify for the race. In the first 30 laps another 4 cars couldn’t continue. By end of race only 15 or so cars were left.Wow. I see. I don't really follow car racing, so have/had no idea how large the field usually is. It just looked very congested at the start. The field was already cut in half. 20+ cars didn’t qualify for the race. In the first 30 laps another 4 cars couldn’t continue. Yes...PitBull performed after thr Last Chance Qualifying Race was completed. (Which ended up being thr best race of the day...as FOX coverage started at 2 pm and covered all the races). They mentioned PitBull. He must have been prerace. I didn’t see him.
Yeah only takes 15 minutes for lead car to pass last car. There’s a couple short tracks like that. I don’t like that racing typically.I see. I don't really follow car racing, so have/had no idea how large the field usually is. It just looked very congested at the start.
