I am watching the NBA playoff this year and I have noticed that in almost every game on e team is taking a 20 point lead and then they blow it by mid 4th quarter.
The disturbing thing is that some of the games seemed orchestrated: team stops scoring (bad misses), stops defending, refs helping the other team, etc.
I don't believe that the games are scripted but I think something is going on

The Playoff field is too large, the Eastern Conference is complete garbage, and the West was sold to be the most competitive conference but has had a lot of blowouts/no drama

I'm a apathetic Magic fan but I thought the NBA was more fun with Villain Lebron in Miami

ITT: The usual white right-wingers discuss how much the NBA sucks.

If you've actually been watching these playoffs, and the clinic Lebron has put on, you would think differently. Lebron has cemented himself right next to MJ in these playoffs.

Wait, so we are racist because half of the series were determined in 5 games or less and only 2 game 7's while the NHL has had only 4 get determined in 5 or less and has had 4 or 5 game 7's with another game 7 scheduled for the conference finals.

How exactly do you reconcile that stance since you openly admit to watching hockey?

such as dumb ass take. plenty of celeb Libs at Rangers games

I enjoyed the NBA the last 2-3 seasons including the playoffs. This year's regular season and playoffs suck. When LeBron was in Miami you had the end of Celtics core and Indiana giving them fits in the East. And in the West the Thunder with a healthy KD. This season the Eastern Conference is the D League

Just when I was starting to think RACIST!!! was getting played out chemmie brings it back.

With half his team sitting in street clothes, Lebron has carried his team to the Finals. That, alone, makes these playoffs worth it. Combining that with Steph Curry and Golden State!! These NBA Playoffs are classic!!!

I've noticed that the NBA sucks balls and is basically unwatchable. I also noticed that ESPN still insists on shoving it down our throats.
i mean...i hate ESPN and all...but this probably isnt the route to take to hate on them. The NBA is immensely popular.

Do they under-deliver on hockey and have terrible shit-tier programming? Yes. But extensively covering the NBA playoffs isnt exactly a bad thing. It IS popular.

What would you rather have right now other than just more hockey? More deflategate coverage and Tim Tebow updates?

The playoff are actually showing how bad Lebron is. He looked bad against Chicago and Atlanta just quit (fix is in).
Another player that is being shown as overrated is Harden. Referees are not calling the BS fouls and he does not know what to do most of the time.
You can actually "see" when the referees get the signal and change the way they are calling the game

When the NBA has transparency in the way they produce the draft picks, then they may be legitimate. Cleveland getting 3 number 1 picks in four years is extremely unlikely( well less than a one perecent chance). Then LeBron returns...

Sounds like a good news day to these guys! Want to talk about NBA assists leaders? Got any Andy Roddick news? Tiger Woods? (he's still acceptable, never turned in his suburbs card for a hood pass)

Hockey is fixed too. All the series are going 6-7 games, what are the odds? more games = more money

They appeal to the most stupid amongst us. Like chemmie.

They devote NOTHING to hockey, barely anything to baseball, yet will spend 15 minutes breaking down a breakway dunk by Lebron James that isn't interesting to anyone.

And by the way, baseball earns $3B more per year than the NBA.

ESPN, literally, is the worst thing for sports. They are no better than TMZ yet sadly command a viewing audience and push their own programming at the detriment of other sports that deserve way more credibility.

Luckily, with the MLB Network, NHL Network, etc there are options. But sadly ESPN has the cable networks by the balls, mostly due to CFB and NFL rights, and we all suffer because of it.

But back to my point- idiots like chemmie are their target audience.

Lebron has cemented his status next to MJ?
What?
Look I am not a fan of MJ, but one man was 6 for 6 in NBA Finals.
The other so far is 2 of 5, and in the 6th, most likely will lose, and be 2 of 6.
Lebron I would say is up there, and yes is the best player today, but that doesn't make him the best ever.

Warriors will beat the Cavs.. They are just simply a better team, my only worry is they have never been to a Finals, and could come out with butterflies.

This NBA Playoffs have been nothing short of Golf.
I like Basketball, but this has been simply bad!
Best series was Spurs v Clips

I will say their baseball coverage mostly revolves around HOLY SHIT BRYCE HARPER IS SOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING/CONTROVERSIAL/DOES IT THE RIGHT WAY!! I dont know how much more regular season baseball coverage i could really stomach though. I mean i like to follow my team but i couldnt care less about a midweek Brewers/A's matchup. Its not like football where fans follow the whole league..

Yes yes $3B....because of quantity... 162 games. Baseball provides a LOT of inventory both on broadcast and at the gate. But the NBA and its athletes are the most popular in the country. (ie LeBron is more popular than ________ NFL player even though obviously the NFL is bigger).

Anyway, we agree ESPN blows and their programming is awful except for 30 for 30, OTL, E:60, and they produce live events better than anyone when they go all-out (ie World Cup coverage as an example). Their brand has tanked as they continue to prop asshats like Bayless, Stephen A, Cowherd, Rovell, Berman, and PTI has become too full of itself to be interesting anymore.

But they do have some good content with guys like SVP, Russillo, Olbermann, LeBatard (homer). John Buccigross continues to be one of the best sports personalities, period.

I have not watched five minutes of any NBA game for the entire year. I used to be a Magic season ticket holder for ten years. No real reason why I don't care anymore, just not a fan. Has nothing to do with the Magic or the players, just not interested in pro basketball.

Ugh. Bruce Hooper is the worst. The fact that he is having a good season and ESPN gets to ride that idiot into the ratings is nightmarish. At least they're finally right about anointing the Expos as the best NL team.

When given the chance to watch either an NHL playoff game or an NBA playoff game, I'll usually choose the former. I prefer the product of playoff hockey to that of the NBA. I guess I'm RACIST!!! though.

Best series was Spurs v Clips

+1
that was the most entertaining series this playoffs....every other series has been a flop with questionable officiating especially in that Chicago vs Cleveland series

Hockey's speed and flow is very entertaining but the reason it has a ceiling and remains a niche sport is that a lot of the sport's stars are Canadians & Russians and you have entire regions of America that didn't grow up playing the sport like baseball or basketball.

ESPN has turned into a joke and another TMZ
