Is anyone able to shine more light on the specifics? A channel obviously negotiates with the cable and sat companies but where I'm looking for clarification is at the local and regional levels. Companies like Time Warner and Comcast are obviously national, so the question is do they have market specific entities that negotiate individual deals or is it done at the corporate level with room to negotiate market or state specific pricing?
I ask because when looking up carriage fees for these conference networks it seems everyone assumes it's a flat rate for states in the conference footprint and a different flat rate for those outside of the footprint and I'm not sure that's the case. I've seen articles that mention averages. I think it's important to know how it works when talking about schools being added to footprints and claiming one school is enough in certain states etc.
