Ernie Sims is a new addition to UCF Football staff having been hired in January as Linebackers coach. Sims inherited a group that included incumbent leader Jason Johnson, who led the team in tackles in 2022. Through recruiting and the transfer portal, Coach Sims has added some experience and depth for the 2023 season.
As the Knights begin their first season in the Big 12, Coach Sims is looking for his unit to be disciplined and aggressive in the overall defensive scheme.
