Before posting this "dick slap" news from the TB Times, you might have paid attention to the fact the article also linked three related news stories.

I noted it’s a left wing rag and hence it’s been pushing the fake “scientist was canned” story but even this hilarious conspiracy pushed by Shook Chicken was too insane for even a shit left wing rag to respond to

Litterally the only thing they said that would disprove the numbers is when they questioned the source in this statement:

"Social media posts highlighted supposed discrepancies between Florida’s usual count for pneumonia deaths at the beginning of a year, and reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the state in 2020. They alleged a difference of several thousand cases. But the Tampa Bay Times spoke to multiple researchers on Friday who said they have seen no evidence of such a drastic trend, and it was unclear exactly where the numbers in the posts came from."

Except i provided a source in my thread. The ****ing CDC report on ILI deaths. Not some crackpot scientist analysis. A governmental body that reports to Trump.

So without questioning the source of the data, what other arguments did they offer up that Florida doesnt have 2 or 3 times the number of reported deaths?
 
Florida is 35th in cases per million people, but 24th in deaths per million people. It doesn't appear that their numbers would be out of the realm of possibility

On the Cuomo front, you have to look at his decision in the crucible of the moment, not with hindsight. In that moment, the world thought this was affecting all age groups equally, the death rate was predicted to be more like 5% than .5% or less, and he had modeling that said that he would be at least 30k short on hospital beds. With that information, he had to make a hard choice. You can see why he’d want to open up hospital beds for younger people if he thought at all that the nursing homes could provide comfort treatment. My issue with his execution is that he should’ve designated nursing homes as COVID-only and moved the healthy to clear homes. But, and I can’t believe that I’m defending him, it’s hard to judge his actions then by applying the knowledge we now have as the standard. He thought that he had some very hard choices to make in that moment.

I tend to agree with you, but thats how history works. At the time, appeasing Hitler seemed like it was the right move. In hindsight it was an utter disaster. The one catch to it is that we had a lot of data from Italy and how hard it was predominantly hitting the elderly.

They didn’t all have the exact same information nor did they have the same problem. Most places weren’t modeled to obliterate the hospitals. Who knows exactly what Cuomo’s medical advisers were saying.
 
Lol this is easily the 10th talking point that Shook Chicken has pushed on here that blew up in his face. To include most all of the Russia hoax and the Smollet “attackers” that deeply embarrassed him

Im waiting for anything in that article that says the cdc numbers are wrong. It says the source is blurry screenshots when its an actual government website that I linked. Seems like the person who wrote that didnt do their research since the source for the info is pretty solid actually.
