SMH. :(

The name of the Father Daughter Dance was changed at Brookshire Elementary School in Winter Park.

"“I think this day and age there are so many different types of family dynamic. It’s really important to make sure no child is excluded,” said Caroline Johnson."

"After telling administrators this type of event discriminates and excludes families who don’t have a father, they changed the name of the dance to Spring Fling as a way to include everyone."

It wasn't the point but I wonder when referring to someone as "mother" or "father" or some other reprehensible term will no longer be politically correct. Don't want to offend anyone, you know?

I don't know why you have to be so RACIST!!!!!! with your posts, Fab.

She can go to the movies that knight with her mom. this all inclusive crap is just stupid. Not every event needs to include everyone.

excluding the obvious racial thoughts, fab, what if a little girl's dad dies?

If you would have read the article, you would have known that the little girl's father died when she was three. But what difference does it make? You probably agree with the concept of participation ribbons so as not to hurt anyone's feelings, don't you.

Not only that, but this bitch was complaining that it was discriminating to children without fathers. Doesn't it have to be intentional to be considered "discrimination"?

Right, because since this has never happened before, we should really start taking measures to not offend those girls in case in the future, a child's parents happen to pass away when they're young.

They don't check DNA at the door. Bring a father like substitute. You know an uncle like Mommy's new friend "uncle Joey". Bring your mom anyway. Maybe she hooks up with some single dad. Bring that guy who drives the van that hands out candy. Whatever you want.

Bring mom and tell everyone to fvck off. Or why do we need elementary school dances. Either way, wgaf?

Nope, not when it comes to sports or other competitions...if you suck, you need to know it early so you can decide if you want to get better...

as far as the article, no i didnt read it but I have this amazing ability to empathize with people that you, nu, bob, and 85 dont possess...what empathy is, is where you can take evidence or details of a person's life and pretend or imagine what it might be like to be that person and imagine how things might feel if you were kept from doing something someone else in your class could do simply because your father had the audacity to die when you were 3...it would feel pretty crappy...now im not for shutting the dance down, but changing the name isnt a bad thing...

I have plenty of empathy but this has NOTHING to do with that - this dumbass woman thought the kids without fathers were being discriminated against. It was a FATHER DAUGHTER dance for goodness sake. She could have brought any male father figure type individual so as not to screw up the original intent of the dance.

While she's at it, why stop there? Her name is mentioned in the article. Maybe your libby fruity ass could combine forces with her and start working to get the name of fvcking Father's Day removed or changed...you don't want to offend all the people without fathers.

Just the natural end to the political correctness that has gone on for the last 30 years.
