New QB enrolled for Spring Practice

Son of Former UCF Football Coach Kruczek.

Juco by way of Lake Howell High School

not a running QB but an accurate short to medium range passer...don't know if he can run a read option (when he didn't hand off he threw the ball in HS and JC).....but who knows with his pedigree....he may be more versatile than he's shown so far....

certainly glad he's come home!

Any and all that can compete for the job next year (or the year after) are welcome at ghis point. It is the most important position for any team. We might get one or two guys to commit this year (that aren't that highly sought after) and will probably have to wait until next years class to see more guys that can fit the style Frost wants.

Depends on the offense....I think he rushed for two TD's at JC level.

Cool! If nothing else this improves our connection to Kruz, a local area HS coach who can speak highly of the University.

UCF's new offense needs arms/bodies...depth chart is wide open so more competition the better. I'm sure Garrett will work hard to challenge anyone in front of him.

Last year video at CC...

He was listed as 4.7 in 40 in H.S. and runs some in this video.
Definitely worth taking a look at for many reasons: familiar with offense, smart and has some talent.
If Holman bombs out, we will have 3 other QBs with college playing time now (Bo, Harris and Garrett).
We shouldn't have to start an incoming freshmen this season.

We need a QB who can run and who doesn't throw picks. Oregon's high powered offense and Baylor's have an extremely high TD/INT ratio. We are
talking a max of 5-6 picks a year. Does
anyone see that in Holman?

Oregon and Baylor's QBs aren't runners. They are efficient. If Holman has the proper training and weapons, he can be efficient.

Both Oregon/Baylor systems are helped by much shorter routes (quick slants, screens, quick outs, etc...) vs downfield routes that are high risk (INT's increase), high reward (big chunk plays).

No clue if Holman or any UCF QB will be successful in the new system this fall...but odds are, the coaching staff will put whoever is playing QB in a best situation and tailor plays to their strengths/weaknesses).

I agree, we should be able to find a QB who fits what Frost wants to do this year from our roster. Between the player coming in hopefully this weekend at QB and recruiting in the next class we should find the player who has speed and QBing skills. This is why Frost in interviews is stressing some patience over the next few years. Finding the perfect QB and the strong/fast DLs that can play in a 3-4 alignment aren't going to be on our roster for 2016.

Seth Russell, Marcus Mariota, etc., aren't runners?? Have you watched any
games in the past few years? Petty and Adams could run as well.

that QB from NorCal is deciding between Virginia and UCF for his last open weekend visit, would guess Utah is the favorite based on proximity to home
