Here is a concept I came up with for a new license plate to represent UCF. I'd love to get your feedback because, at some point, I would like to present this to the UCFAA.
Now, more than ever, we are trying to establish our image across the state and the nation. I believe that we need to put our most-recognizable logo forward so that our brand grows with every driver that sees this plate.
This is an idea that I have been toying with for a few years, pretty much since I started at UCF in 2010. As much as I love the Pegasus (a lot) and what it represents to UCF the university (a lot), it is hardly recognized outside of the UCF community.
For anyone driving, they need to view the hard-to-read letters "University of Central Florida" at the bottom of the plate to know what the Pegasus means. And for those who attach plate frames, the letters are hidden altogether.
Using the stacked UCF and ChargeOn gets the point across right away that the driver of the car is a UCF fan, whether or not the text University of Central Florida can be read.
Also, special thanks to Twitter users @UCFSportsInfo and @fatguyfix for their input on this. I had a different design from a while back that I changed to the one you see now because of their feedback and inspiration.
