If “some improvement” in your words happens, then yes - UCF will absolutely make the tournament.
They went 7-11 in conference play last year, so just a game or two better would put them right in the middle of the conversation. Remember, the NET, SOS, etc metrics will all look good on their resume simply by being in the BIG12.
I’m not sure they’re a tournament team, I’m not crazy about their frontcourt size/depth (but would love to be wrong). But if you “expect improvement”, then the tournament should be within their reach (in theory).
I think we make the tourney. Some here are still sleeping on our team. Our only losses are to Wisconsin (who was ranked) and LSU (who should be ranked soon). We have a win over a ranked Texas A&M and just beat a good Texas Tech on the road. Why do some of you still not believe in this team?
I don’t think it’s about “not believing”.
Like I’ve said in other threads, I think conference play will expose some major weaknesses on this team. For me, it’s all on the defensive end of the floor.
The guys are giving up way too many points (scoring defense, last in the B12), too many points in the paint, and they are one of the worst defensive rebounding teams in the conference. I hope to be proven wrong, I just don’t think winning - when you’re lacking in those areas - is sustainable.

The 2024 Sonny’s
A staple of the Sons of UCF coverage over the years has been the annual Sonny awards, given out to members of the football team based on their performance in that season. As you know, 2024 was a challenging year, but the Sonny’s must go on.
A couple of category notes: a player is labeled as a newcomer if this is his first year with the program (transfer or freshman). A player is eligible for the breakout category if they have been with the Knights for at least a season (redshirts included). Everything else should be pretty self explanatory. Without further adieu…
