If that helmet is the real deal, love the return of thr gold but am not a fan of the comically oversized logo (ala the Bucs).
For that reason I was kind of surprised the gold wasn't that reflective metallic look.If we are going Oregon east there will be a lot of comical stuff. Recruits eat this stuff up.

My thought was it should be even bigger, with parts of the letters cropped off the helmet.I would say make the logo a little smaller and it would be perfect
So.....you're the inside man!
Slain crusade-era muslims? Or are we going with PC over historically accurate? So what would UCF helmet stickers look like> Ohio State has their Buckeyes, Clemson has a tiger paw. What would UCF's look like?

Not a fan of the metallic look.. it's a bit over the top. Maybe for a "fancy" bowl game that'll work. I like the matte look better overall.Me too but it might be easier to change the decals on this one.
I absolutely agree. From a branding and exposure standpoint this is huge. It will create buzz in the market for non-UCF fans. I remember in the 90's, I had never heard of Oregon's football team until Nike started doing their thing. The same could happen with us. The helmet and new uniforms are already being talked about on uniform and logo sites and Nike forums.Brandon put an article on the front page. That helmet is the real deal. One of four. Apparently the logo's are customizable and fairly easy to switch out.
The best detail in all this- Oregon and UCF are the only schools Nike does this kind of work for. That detail is huge. Frost worked his connection with Phil Knight and it will pay huge dividends in the future. Recruits and fans alike are going to eat this stuff up and it won't take networks long to notice a growing popularity surrounding UCF. People can scoff and say this stuff is unimportant but they are wrong. It brings in casual fans. Winning is most important but this stuff will help us get the recruits needed to do that again.
We'll probably have 10-15 of those decals.I absolutely agree. From a branding and exposure standpoint this is huge. It will create buzz in the market for non-UCF fans. It just dawned on me, the pewter helmet and silver uni's could replicate medieval armor...that has some real interesting potential. Plus, I'm envisioning an all white uni/helmet combo w/ a Citronaut decal. I still don't like the large logo, but considering this was just a prototype and an example of a custom combination, I'm really excited for the future.
Equipment guy is going to be putting in some OT for sure. We'll probably have 10-15 of those decals.
It only matters if you win a lot of games and are relevant with competing for and winning hardware because people jump on the bandwagon for those kind of teams. If you're UNLV or New Mexico you can have all the coolest gear in the world but it won't matter. It is great branding and advertising!Brandon put an article on the front page.
