Nice Article in the Slant this morning by Bianchi regarding UCF & The BIG 12

I'm glad Bianchi is on our side in the expansion race. I know a lot of UCF fans don't like him, but I'd like to see more in the local media pointing out that more people around here should support our teams. Even if you are already a supporter of another school, adopt UCF as your second school to cheer for and buy some tickets to UCF sports events.

It would be nice if a significant number of UCF fans went online and posted positive UCF stuff in the comments section of articles like this. But, alas, UCF fans are content to just sit on their hands and not take the three minutes required to show support for their school.

The West Virginia AD's comments are interesting:

New West Virginia athletic director Shane Lyons let it be known recently he wants the Big 12 to expand and that the league is at least investigating adding two new members.

"There's a presidential committee that's kind of looking at that . . . but as athletic directors, we try to look at the bigger picture of what actual teams and partners we could bring in that would add value to the conference and that's still being explored," Lyons told WVIllustrated.com. "I'm in favor of expansion if it's the right two teams to bring in. Obviously for us, it would be nice to have more of an eastern partner, but at the same time, I want to make sure it's the right partner and from a revenue standpoint it doesn't impact us negatively as well by bringing additional partners in."

I like him, the dude always sticks up for UCF. People need to stop hating on him.

I wouldn't say that he always sticks up for us, but I feel like he's fair. He's not a Chuck Landon-type like what Marshall fans have in Huntington, West Virginia, who will be a cheerleader for the local university no matter what (I've never read any post from a Marshall fan that said good things about Landon, by the way). Bianchi isn't the best I've ever seen, but he does a decent job, IMO.
