I have a poker friend who is a nice friendly guy -- as long as you steer clear of politics. He's one of those right-wing Qanon conspiracy wackos. He will tell you with a straight face that Hillary ran a pedo sex ring, Michelle Obama is a tranny, and there were never any actual moon landings. The Government faked them all.

I find it more than a little scary that a normal person by all appearances can can believe such f'ked up things.

Very simple. There’s no real importance to it if you’re not first. It’s more of a pride thing. An accomplishment. It’s very very expensive. Even back in 1969, it was very controversial because of the expense. It was coming out of taxpayers dollars

Additionally, it’s not an easy thing to do even in 2020. That’s what makes it so unbelievable
