The fact that Joe’s brother and son have used him to get wealthy has been known for years. Why does this show up after the election? Why investigate them now after years of chicanery?
I can see at least four possible reasons:
1. Trump (or other Republicans) is doing his best to destroy Biden’s reputation before he takes office or to gain sympathy for his election fraud lawsuits.
2. Democrats are attempting to whitewash what James and Hunter have done (with Joe almost certainly knowing what was happening).
3. It’s just a routine investigation that has been taking some time and was paused so that the DOJ wouldn’t change the election by taunting a candidate with unconfirmed accusations, or at least without the Bidens having due process.
4. Some combination of the above.
I can see at least four possible reasons:

Why now? Pretty simple, really. Joe was the only Democrat that could beat Trump but they don't really want him to be POTUS, so they sat on it until after he crossed the finish line. Now that the scandal is out, they can force him out and have Harris take over.
The obvious next step, which nobody is doing, is to ask the question "who is the big guy?" in those emails.
I'm pretty sure the democrat party doesn't want the president to be under indictment for felony money laundering.
WTF? Last I checked, neither James Biden or Hunter Biden are the President-Elect. If either or both of them did something illegal, then let them be charged, convicted, and suffer the same consequences that anybody else would.
But it takes a 'major conspiracy theorist-inspired leap-of-faith' to tie the President-Elect into why either James or Hunter are being investigated by Federal authorities.

I'll ignore the precious irony of a Trumpster going ape-shit over a politician's family members profiting off their connections and instead ask this question: If someone I know tries to profit off of my name, how does that automatically make me complicit?
That isn't my point. Complicit or not, some people would think that he somehow was. That shouldn't be a controversial statement.
