At the moment it isn’t even close to being stable enough to be a legit currency. That’s part of my hesitation with it. I like the idea, but it’s far too volatile as it stands.

That's exactly why it would destroy BTC. It would create a trade rate and any transactions made with it would be a royal pain in the butt in paperwork for trades.
