Probably have to wait another week or two to find out. Governor flip flop might change his mind again.

Desantis made any local mandate unenforceable a while back. A company can still require you to wear a mask to enter their private business though putzy.

Last week he extended the emergency order another 60 days.
I think that you’re smart enough to see how extending a bureaucratic mechanism that keeps extra resources in place so they can continue to deal with the already and previously infected and also continue to fund the emergency structures, such as vaccine distribution and COVID information sites, can be aligned with a message easing restrictions on healthy people and not a “flip-flop” as you are trying to portray.

A week apart? I get extending them and then making a change for some date in the future (July 1). He's just blowing in the political wind.

I'm glad he did this. Went to St Augustine last weekend and it was a different world when it came to masks and their view of things compared to Central Florida. For the most part the locals had abdoned wearing masks and most tourists had too. Some business still required them but even that was few and far between. For the most part it was more of a recommendation.

I got the second shot yesterday so it seems to be about time for a mask burning party!

My kids school just sent this out

Good afternoon,

We have had an opportunity to read over both Executive Orders issued by Governor DeSantis yesterday. Effective immediately, parents will determine whether or not their child(ren) wears a mask to school. Teachers have already been instructed that they have the same choice.

While we are fully aware that COVID, masks, etc elicit some very strong feelings and can be politically charged, we are simply following the Executive Order. We will not engage in political banter. Both staff and families have a choice and we as a school will respect that choice.

We live in Osceola county and send our kids to a charter school but seems like we are moving in the correct direction.

Just got the call for Seminole stating that the mask order at school remains... They cited the FL DOE decision... wear a mask...don't...whatever. idgaf.

I’m glad that people are starting to have a screw this and enough is enough attitude towards masks. I’m just about done with masks at this point. There’s a vaccine. Get it or fukc you. I’m not wearing a mask for stupid people or anti-vaxxers. I just spoke with a radiologist today and he said that Covid cases are down, but now most of the bad cases are people in their 40’s and one isn’t going to make it by the end of the week. Keep playing Russian Roulette because “it hasn’t been tested enough.” Well COVID has, and it kills some people.
