1 game away from the finals. This really is a heartbreaking story for those kids.

Meanwhile, 30,000 fans pack into the stadium. Pure silliness at this point.

The Wolfpack should have got the vac

Last year everyone (including NC State) was fearful about playing ANY sport. Hoping for a vaccine.

Now there’s vaccine and they don’t want it. Tough crap. Vanderbilt obviously has smarter players and a coach who isn’t feeding them garbage

100%. No one to blame but themselves.

The coach had a brain fart and said there was a bug going around. They then tested the sick player who was positive and found out he had symptomatic Covid playing in the prior game. This prompted the additional testing of the entire team and they ended up with 8 players positive. The 4 unvaccinated were symptomatic. Had they been vaccinated, even if they contracted, odds are they would have been asymptomatic and untested and the show would have gone on. Oh well. Lesson learned I guess.

It’s very simple: get the vaccine and this isn’t even an issue. Or you can be a stupid anti-vaxxer dildo and you get sent home. Sounds like these dildos chose poorly and now want to blame the meanie ncaa for their bad life choices.

4 players that tested positive had the vaccine. Makes you wonder about the effective rates.
The johnson and johnson is in the 70% range for effective. Which is why it is most effective when the population as a whole is also vaccinated. The compounding effectiveness across multiple potential transmission chains is what makes the vaccine drive down virus transmission overall. If someone brought the virus into the clubhouse, some vaccinated and unvaccinated would expect to be infected…only the vaccinated would never know as they showed no symptoms. Whereas the unvaccinated on the team were (apparently) symptomatic.

Instead of pulling the one kid showing actual covid symptoms, they are pulling the entire team? You don't think there is covid in the 30k fans?
There was more than one showing symptoms FWIW. The coach said a bug was going around. Initially they did pull the kid as well as unvaccinated players. That’s when they played the first game. After testing the other symptomatic unvaccinated players, 4 were positive. By the protocol this necessitated testing the rest of the team. This brought them to 8 cases. Given how few were vaccinated, it wasn’t feasible for them to have the game played given 8 known cases on the team.

I would never get a vaccine that’s was 70% effective when there is one that’s 95%. That’s going to prolong this pandemic thanks to the anti-vaxxers

100% misinformed. None of the positive tests were unvaccinated, according to players. But keep clinging to your narrative. Who needs the truth anyway?
Dude.., you need to read the whole thread. The NC state team has a LOT of unvaccinated players.

Don't necessarily tie antivaxxers term into these not taking the covid shots. There are legitimate reasons to not jump on a vaccine. 1) still listed as emergency use and not fda approved 2) those under 30 probably don't feel the need with extremely low death rates of less than 1%.

I'd be interested in knowing if nc state had a bunch of covid positive cases after getting the vaccine. Potential either false positive or the particular vaccine for these players is not that effective.(j and j)
I would think that many players on sports teams are opting for the J and J vaccine. It’s just not that effect unless nearly everyone gets it as stated before

IMO, there are no legitimate reasons not to take it. It’s safe and it leads to heard immunity which includes the young

Nope. Vaccinated players were only even tested because there were 4 cases amongst symptomatic unvaccinated players. Otherwise they would have been untested. The vaccinated players were all asymptomatic.

So what’s the point of testing asymptomatic, vaccinated players? All while allowing fans to come into the stadium untested and sit next to strangers?

Do you really not see the moronic inconsistency here?

And did they cancel the game before or after finding out that the guys who were vaccinated and not sick were… uhhh… not sick, but… still sick?
