Haha yea close. I work in researching the nervous system so it's all electrical signals and we often report strength in Nm. A lot of the foundational work did come from engineers but our "tree" comes from a kinesiology/sport performance background.

Interesting! How do you convert an electrical property to a physical property?

I always read “Nm” the same, but it’s due to a Mech E background.

I think was unclear. A lot of times we use a dynamometer to measure strength in Nm. We also combine this with electromyography to record and analyze nervous system activity.
